The story of the blue chip prospect - 01/06/21 04:03 PM

Brandon Lucky 18 Stevens

http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_stats.php?id=1672617

Brandon joined the migrantworkers camp as a result of 2 things

1 being chief is a benevolent owner who did the Christmas giveaway

2 being that my oldest son insisted on me picking number 18 because he is a huge Kyle Busch fan

Imagine my surprise when a few days after being told that I had a professional wrestler interested in joining my camp when in walks this blue chip guy

I mean what does that even mean

He did not come in with any amazing stats at all

Decent judo which I dont train and some decent reflexes

But he did come with decent enough stats that he had a well rounded enough base to take his first fight 11 months after joining my gym

Which is where it got weird

For some reason he had to sign to LFC

Fine

Whatever

His first fight was an impressive 2nd round submission although it was against a noob

But it was enough to earn him a shot at the vacant title

Which he won in a grueling 5 round fight against another noob

Fight number 3

Defending the belt

Against another noob

Dropped the belt against a style disadvantage and a small stat disadvantage in a humbling 5 round unanimous decision

So there will be no tracking a long undefeated streak

No premature talk of being a bust or a future stud

Maybe tomorrow he will speak for himself

So dude has been in EFC for a bit

Has a losing record

Does not get finished often

A few times I have walked him to the top of the stairs but I have never been willing to push him off

Now I am thinking about rounding out some switches to see what he may do as a catch weight legend where his low weight will not be such a liability

He lost to my MMARTIST

http://mmarmy.com/showfight.php?fight=7942288

who couldn't beat anyone else in EFC... and prompty went on to lose back in PREL against a crappy 8pts build

http://mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=1680697

http://mmarmy.com/showfight.php?fight=7943658

what exactly is special about special recruits again? seems like they only special when certain camps get them.

Yeh SRs are only special if you ask chief nicely, thats how it works, otherwise theyre terrible, its all political and unfair around here, im glad youre airing the real issues, which are the camps who only get good SRs btw, want to compare notes and see if our lists match up, cos this is definitely a thing and in no way another weird conspiracy

I'm pointing out that you could pay $$ for a Blue Chip and end up with an undersized disappointment. Imagine paying $10 and getting a fighter like that.

I might pull a foul and rage quit

Despite how bad he sucks I am keeping him until he retires and building switches just for fun

Re: The story of the blue chip prospect - 03/22/21 05:12 PM

Alright

Retired at 38 and 53

Won 7 of his last 10 or so

If you want to test any of your legends send him a cw fight and I will send one back
