Why do you keep coming back?

Aye guys! I mean Hey guys! Trite here.


One of the common discussions we have is about growing the game and that is great. One weird, bizarre, and unique phenomenon is the leaving and eventually coming back from coaches. Honestly, I think if we all add to our personal reasons why, maybe, we can extract common ground and implement in recruiting methods. All feedback is appreciated and every coach who has ever left and came back can add to this, also, if you never left, why?

The first time I left was when MKick still owned the game and would not get rid of feeders. I could not believe the owner cared so little and I left for several days and it impacted my first ever EFC champion getting ten belts (that and another coach ducking him when I returned, which, is why title shots in EFC mean a little bit more to me, yea)


I then left again for several years to pursue music, but, then got side tracked with having two more kids and having some fun doing other things. Would come on every so often the forums only during a fight night. All out from nowhere I started having this weird urge to look at some of my old fighters, that lead me to coming back to the forums and eventually recruiting. This lead me to creating new Goals for myself within the game. Now, I am back.

What has brought you guys back? Don't want to harp too much on why you left (pretty sure we may have similar reasons as a collective with life, game got boring, fed up with someone)

Looking forward to healthy dialogue here now.

For me I got bored with the game and left, I came back for a bit a few years ago and did well game was new but then left because of the toxicity of the people. The drama around the efc belts was stupid and the EFC belt defense system which was actually never built into the game other than top 10. Since i dont have all the time from the past to go checking all the contenders and getting every reset and even as a contender missing a fight since there was nobody to fight was just stupid. Place is crowded with so many fighters that are related by players since they had so many camps and their fighters cant fight each other you have to figure out who you can fight before its too late and then you are facing sitting out or fighting garbage players on the bottom of the list maybe and then you cant even count that toward your streak. the player toxicity is not worth it when you just want to play the game

The great thing about this game is that everyone is an MMA fan and can talk about it. nobody is very toxic when it comes to the sport and the discussion can be awesome and i dont have that irl as much

Lol...that's why I attempt to log in early as I can in both resets, because, those don't happen to me often, but, have occasionally when I've gotten on too late.

honestly if you can just send a challenge after you fight and and dont have to wait for the reset it would make the game so much more playable

I actually came back to check on the forums around the start of Football season because I missed our Fantasy League here. Was bummed to see nothing was happening, but was happy to have my alliance mates message me in all of about 30 seconds.

Didn't really intend to start playing again, but here I am. lol

I suspect for a lot of us at this point, this just feels like one of those little "corners of the internet" that we've been dwelling in for a long time.

The recruit button and the DBA forum. It's that "little corner of the internet" indeed. In the back of my mind the Cheers theme song is playing now, lol.

I've had breaks from the game quite often, but always checked to see how the game was doing so now and then. It's a small step to click that recruit button and before you know it you're starting to fill up a camp again.

Ive taken 3 long breaks for personal reasons and the answer is quite simple. The community!

I can never leave this place. It has a hold on me that will only be broken when the game dies.

Im not very bright. Only reason I can think of.

For me the game is fun and a constant challenge. Been here since before smart phones have taken long breaks but only cause I get bored and refuse to change styles.

Most everyone is worth talking to as well in the forums. On fight nights in real life I have one person I can stand. This SB is full of people who do not yell stand em up.

Most importantly the game is a super fun algorithm no one has truly ever figured out.

being in a alliance has brought an entirely new angle as well.

Everytime I see a great fight night I wander back here , on and off since I was young .Last night was UFC299 definitely reinvigorated the spirit

2 reasons:

1) The main members have always been awesome.

2) Comments like this. I wanted to run a fun team that was respected.

"Current top coaches based on skill, balls, honor: -seaville, godfather, steve mcgeeno, ronin warriors, southside, hector, g-row, will be updated as i'm sure i've missed a few."

How I played mattered to me.
