MMArmy World Cup 14'

TBD No. of Groups and Coaches will have their chosen 11 fighters face off against an opposing coaches 11 fighters 1 time in each match. Each Coach will put their fighters from the SAME CAMP into a Soccer position for example a 4-4-2 Formation...

You will field 2 fighters from each weight class plus 1 fighter from any weight for your Catchweight Fight (Goalie)

Striker - Heavyweight
Striker - Heavyweight
Midfielder - Light Heavyweight
Midfielder - Light Heavyweight
Midfielder - Middleweight
Midfielder - Middleweight
Defensemen - Welterweight
Defensemen - Welterweight
Defensemen - Lightweight
Defensemen - Lightweight
Goalie - Any Weight you want (This will be a CATCHWEIGHT FIGHT)

You turn in your rosters to me by pm. Camp with most wins will get to choose first fight. You choose your first fighter against ANY of your opponents fighters. You win then you get to keep choosing fights. You lose and then your opponent takes control.

These are LEGEND fights with retired fighters. I will supply the credits to each participating camp.

The 1st Round will be a group stage where like in the current World Cup you will compete Round Robin vs other coaches in your group the top TBD number of teams in each group move on to the tournament.

This will be similar to the KOK2. I will post a schedule once a proper number of people are signed up.

I was going to do something in regards to opponent choices and possession but nah just 11 fighters. I just kept the theme when describing it but it's just 11 fighters of your choice from 1 camp.

Hey Chief, is the scoring going to be like the World Cup (i.e. 3 points for a win) or is going to be broken down into individual fights. For instance, I win a match 6-5, I get 6 points and my opponent gets 5?

3 Points for team win. No points for Losing and you can't tie so no points for tie.

3 points for a finish, 1 point for a decision?

Groups are finalized. I used the snake seeding format and went by Camp Wins.

I will post the schedule on the first page this weekend. You guys need to stick the schedule as i am only going to place credits into your camps after i tally a final score from one matchup.

The home team will choose their first fight in each match up and whoever wins that first fight can then choose the second fight. So on and so forth until all 11 fights have completed for that match up.

3 Points for overall Team Win. 0 for a Team loss.

I have the groups on the 2nd post of the 1st page which also will include the schedule but i will post the schedule to this thread in written format for the lazy people.

Top 2 teams of each group will go into the Tournament along with 2 WILD CARDS. Wild cards will be based off points and the tie breaker for wild cards will be FINISHES.

Medals issued for Gold, Silver and Bronze (There will be a consolation game in the Tournament to decide Bronze)

Whats the tiebreaks within a group?

There will probably be a scenario with 3 6-point teams and 1 0 point team.

Its basically a best of 11? If i won or lose the first 7, its over?

Right, but thats for wild cards.

I mean if three teams in one group all have 6 points, how do you determine which of those 2 teams advance and which one has to hope for a wild card spot?

To clarify, if there are 3 groups that end each with 3 teams with 6 points then we have 9 teams competing 8 spots (2 for each group = 6, plus two wildcard).

So a 6 point team could potentially be left out. I just want to know who you're determining which teams automatically advance out of the group in the case of a 3-way tie. Is the the tiebreaker going to be finishes?

Technically yes but everyone needs to fight every single fight for a match up. No ducking out because opponent got their 7th win early. Complete all 11 fights.

Oh yea well that will probably give us the wildcards and if it happens to much then probably do a one off catchweight pick any fighter you want.

No you just choose who fights who in the weightclass, so basically you just have control on the matchups of one weight everytime you have control

My guys have let me down so badly in this event. I pick the right styles and get koed in the first. A guy that had never been put to sleep in his career has been koed in the last two fights...what the hell is going on.

Unsure is probably my best legend. That fight reminded me of what a beast he is.

I was more surprised that I beat wassup. That was the one that blew me away. We still got one more harrier, but I've enjoyed the battle. Cheers.

Yea, that's the way it woks. So you get matchup choice for only 1 weight at a time, by picking 2 weights you are picking 4 fights at once essentially.

It's how the whole tourney has gone lol

That was my assumption as well but i didn't state clearly to people that they couldn't challenge separate weights so a few have chosen this route.

It was a tricky crafty move by people but it's my fault for not stating it in the rules. I was a bit too busy at work to take the time i should have to get better rules. So just go with it.

I'd prefer people use their 2 challenges at a time for the same weight so if you agree upon that then fantastic but i'm not going to penalize someone who tries to use 2 different weights as others have done it already.

I didn't realize this was happening until Judo did it to Phreak. I told Phreak to make him re-send the challenges for the same weight but he decided to go with it as the Away team can just do it right back in 2 other weight classes. Home team just gets the advantage on the 5th which is a similar advantage as they get initially if you send the same weight.

Hmmm, I already declined his challenges but I'll just accept whatever then.

So send again ace.

Not sure I like that as it's the initial advantage for home doubled though. I know the end result might appear the same but the beginning challenges give a much bigger adv.

This was a fun tournament to watch. I was hoping to see one of the LCS guys win, but like I told Hatchet, it was anyones game when it came down to the final 4. Congrats to Hatchet. With that field of competitors, you definitely earned it.
