Legends of the Arena

This event will run with the Ultimate Fighter formula of 2 coaches running teams of 16 in a tournament format.

- 2 Coaches. Ryzomack vs BlimBlapZing

- 32 legends in any weightclass (Legend tokens will be provided)

- Team Coaches cannot enter their own fighters into the event

- Please submit any legend you feel is worthy and he will be entered for selection

- When all 32 fighters have entered the event, both Team Coaches will send me a number between 0 and 100, the coach who guesses closest to my number will get the choice of picking the 1st fighter or the 1st fight

- Team Coaches take turns picking the fighters they want on their team until both teams consist of 16 fighters

- If we don't get 32 legends from 32 different coaches then coaches will be allowed to submit another legend if they so choose
NOTE: this 2nd legend may be picked for the opposing team to their 1st legend

The Coaches Challenge!

To decide who gets the 1st fight pick in the Quarter Finals the coaches will compete in The Coaches Challenge.

Each coach had to select 10 fighters from the bottom of their retired rosters. Ryzomack chose to pick the bottom 5 from 2 camps, whereas BlimBlapZing chose to pick the bottom 3,3 and 4 from 3 camps. Then the coaches gave each fighter a number between 1 and 10. Each numbered fighter will be matched with the fighter with the same number on the opponent's team so we have 10 matches. Each fight will be contested at Catchweight

Each win = 1 point
A Finish = An extra 2 points!
The most creative/destructive finish at the end of the 10 fights = An extra 5 points!

The coach with the most points at the end of the 10 fights wins the Coaches Challenge and picks the 1st fight in the Quarter Finals.

So at the end of the 10 fights it's 5-5 in match wins, each fight ended in a finish so the scores are 15-15. It all comes down to the extra 5 points for the most creative/destructive finish... Both teams had equally creative finishes so they BOTH get 5 extra points taking it to 20-20!!!!

Just so we are clear, i pm'd Ippo days ago to enter a fighter and he didn't enter. I will be annoyed if Ippo enters and then forgets about the event when it's time to fight.

I leave the choice with Ehrod and Phreak on whether they want to pull one of their fighters or not. If they want 2 fighter in then they have 2 fighters in, i gave everybody plenty of time so it's COMPLETELY up to Phreak and Ehrod.

I lost so no biggie, but why was there a wild card? And why was the wild card with a fighter (mine) who already won his 1st round? That's a pretty bad idea imo, should have been between 2 fighters already eliminated.

Each coach should of have pm'ed tommo 1 fighter from their eliminated group and they fought for a chance to re enter.

I'm out, and probably appears I'm being a sore loser, I'm not. I actually had no idea migs fighter was previously eliminated and that I was chose for the wild card spot.

For me to have 2 fighters eliminated come back and fight each other for a chance to re-enter the event there were 2 options.

1. Winner then progresses to round 2 but we have an odd number of fighters so someone gets a bye at sometime which is dumb as getting a bye doesn't prove a fighter deserves to be in the next round.

2. Have a fighter who lost a close fight come back and fight someone who advanced, and the winner stays in.

I chose option 2.

Bubbles confidence in his standup grows with every round as he stares down a huge strike to the jaw and then asks for more! For the third fight in a row a errant Jodoin eye poke pauses the fight early on. Bubbles takes advantage and takes it to Collins with some vicious strikes and a powerful slam that ends the round in his favor. Bubbles controls round 2 with his strong grappling but Collins takes round 3 back with some precise kicks and punches. Round 4 however spells the end for Collins as Bubbles takes it to the ground and unleashes his devastating ground and pound ultimately leaving the ref no choice but to stop the fight leaving Collins a bloody mess. Bubbles via 4th round TKO.

With his back to the wall and the championship series on the line Collins comes out swinging and after a multitude of strikes he has Bubbles on the ropes but ultimately cannot finish before the round ends. Bubbles controls the 2nd round with his wrestling and grappling but Rounds 3 and 4 both fighters come out swinging again. The final round is the same story for most of this championship series where a game Branden Collins, the more experienced striker gets beat in the striking game as he seems too weary of the take downs. When Bubbles does take him down he imposes his will on him where Collins has no answer.

James "Bubbles" Jodoin wins by Unanimous Decision and secures the 4-0 series victory!

Collins bows down in respect of the large Kohonas displayed by the victor and the dominant performance in this entire tournament.
