Hi all,

Well I've definitely never been in this position before but one of my latest prospects is off to a pretty solid start.

http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=1668832

As per the title really, is it worth breaking his contract to sign a bigger one now while he's on this hot streak? He's got 5 left costing me 8k to cancel it, my concern is he drops a few of those last few fights and the offers are much lower but I've really no experience to compare.

Also is it considered any sort of bad etiquette to break it while holding the belt, thanks all.

tbh there are no right or wrong answers here, hes not 1 years old yet so still majorly young but smashing it at 8-0. You may move him up and he gets smashed or he may move up and destroy the competition, its literally down to what you want to do with him as all fighters are different, its not bad etiquette to buy out with the belt, as itll just go to a AC for other fighters to fight for the belt.

Sorry to be so 'on the fence' but its probably coaches discretion really as some guys will be moved up and lose while others may move up, then move up again and win an efc belt within a few years smile

No that's actually a really good answer, tells me a lot thanks. I just didn't want to feel like I was making a major mistake if I went with one or the other. I think at this point the finances are probably more important to me than this guys record right now as theres so upgrades I want (ruthless I know), but I think I'll leave him in there for another couple either way.

yeh man, do as you feel is right, theres no wrong way to play other than not fighting your own camps and sending out bad title shots really, other than that its coach discretion smile

I would have advised you no, straight forward. Really up to you at the end of the day, but, your guy is a baby with baby stats. May be different if he had higher stats, he is going to struggle in Prel. Was rushed, would have fought out the CG contract, win or loss and if unable to move to Prel, move to another tier two. You'll be able to learn about the guy's hiddens tho.

this game sucks for new players. Due to the current population expect a lot of fighters to nose dive in higher orgs. Save money and build equipment up. Never raise your fighters up until you have an experienced camp. This will unfortunately take a lot of time

With judo saying how hard it is for newer camps maybe newer camp start with slightly better equipment or fighter than atm... just an idea

Alternately, you can throw your young stud in EFC immediately. Feels great to have a young buck surprising geezers and grabbing early belts. The current number one being the perfect example.

No wrong way to play as people have said. You do you my boo. Enjoy.

Speaking of equipment. It seems to have disappeared from the game. Also, I can't see other fighters stats. Kind of sucks, plus money is virtually useless now. Any ideas on this? I'm new to the forum but not new to the game. So I have been lacking in information...

As far as cancelling a contract. the only time that I cancel a contract is when I mistakenly sign a contract and theres like 5 or 6 other fighters. If that happens you get very few fights and the fighter just ages and it takes years to finish the contract. Plus, when you have millions of $ whats a measly 8k...

If the fighter seems to have an easy time of it, why cancel, just run up the win total because when you go to the next league you might not be able to buy a win...

Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.

I never thought to look there. I wonder how that suddenly became blank. There's no blank option, strange. Thanks again.

So for a new camp never buy out unless you have some special goal. All i can say always sign the shortest contracts. Overall in his lifetime it does not matter which means you will waste the 8k but you can still build his rank even if his pop will be capped out. Right now just fight every rest all of your fighters and try to win.

Also important to remember that winning a fight doubles your pay for that fight
