Round 1 Adrian Monson connects with a series of punches forcing Jan Ausubel into a clinch. Jan attempts to grab the plum but is kept off balance by Adrians strikes. Adrian Monson attempts a takedown from the clinch, but Ausubel pulls a switch on him, ultimately leading to both fighters on their feet. Jan Ausubel throws a hard jab but Adrian throws a cross right over the top that knocks Jan Ausubel to the ground. Monson drops a huge strike to Ausubels chin, landing into his guard. Monson takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Jans guard. It doesn't pay off as Jan makes his way to standing. A shot is side stepped by Jan but quick reflexes and footwork lead to a second attempt that takes down Jan. Adrian settles into his guard. Jan begins to posture on his side. Monson lands a couple of outside hooks and Jan returns to the guard. Monson drops a few strong punches, opening up Ausubels guard, giving him a chance to pass to mount. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 Jan Ausubel stuffs a takedown but is backed into a corner and must slide into guard to avoid being picked up. Jan tries for a kimura from the bottom. Adrian throws an outside punch and Jan releases the hold. Adrian takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Jan Ausubels guard. It doesn't pay off as Ausubel makes his way to standing. Ausubel is staggered by a jab to the chin. Adrian takes a punch to the jaw. He drops his hands and asks Ausubel to hit him harder. Round 3 Adrian connects with a hard punch making Jan bring him in to a tight clinch. Adrian Monson lands a powerful uppercut in the clinch. Jan Ausubel takes the back of Adrian Monson who works for a kimura. Jan Ausubel pulls his arm out of the hold and push Adrian Monson away. Adrian takes down Ausubel, but remains standing over him. Monson attempts to drop a fist on Ausubel, but misses and lands in his guard. Monson takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Ausubels guard. It doesn't pay off as Jan makes his way to standing. Adrian Monson stuffs a shot from Jan Ausubel and hits him with a hard hook to the temple and pushes him to take his guard. Adrian dodges a few strikes from Jan and cuts him open with a couple of powerful elbows. A deep cut is open up over the eye of Jan Ausubel from strikes in the guard. The ref stops the fight so the doctor can look at it. The doctor says he can continue. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 4 Jan throws a few jabs at Adrian Monson that miss the mark. Ausubel narrowly dodges a cross from Adrian, but falls catching him in his guard. Adrian dodges a few strikes from Ausubel and cuts him over his eye with a axe-handle strike. Ausubel is starting to bleed over his left eye. Monson eats a stiff punch to the face, and is then switched, giving Jan full mount. Jan Ausubel secures his position. Monson bucks off Jan Ausubel and sweeps him over taking side control.
