Round 1 Devon connects with a right that puts Adrian off balance tumbling to the mat, as Devon towers over him. Devon attempts to drop a fist on Monson, but misses and lands in his guard. Adrian begins to posture on his side. Devon lands a couple of outside hooks and Adrian returns to the guard. Devon takes advantage of a mental laps from Monson and moves into full mount. Devon maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. Devon Marrero telegraphs his motions for an armbar, but Adrian gives up his back to stop the attempt. Devon lays into Monson with some strong shots forcing Monson to give up mount position. Devon begins to lose position so switches back to side control. Round 1 comes to a close.

Marrero hits an uppercut to the head of Adrian Monson followed by a hard hook. Monson feints a takedown attempt and connects with a left hook dropping Devon. Monson finishes Devon off with punches on the ground.
