Round 1 Both fighters begin to exchange Jay Haynes catches Jad with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets Jad gather himself. Jad says he is ok and the fight continues. A trip to the ground allows Jad Felipe to move into the guard of Jay. Felipe frees a leg and moves into half guard. Jay pops his head under the arm of Jad Felipe reaches down and grabs the foot. Wrenches up for a calf lock. Jad Felipe rolls out of the attempt. Both fighters are standing. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 Jay Haynes narrowly dodges a cross from Jad, but falls catching him in his guard. Jay attempts a kimura from the bottom. Jad blocks the attempt and smothers Jay who transitions to an armbar attempt. Jad is able to defend this as well and works back into guard. Jay keeps his head down in the chest of Felipe to avoid any submission attempts. Jay leans up and lands some short punches before lowering back down. The round comes to an end.
Round 3 Jay Haynes hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. A single-leg attempt is well defended by Jad Felipe. Jay stands up, lifting the leg of Jad Felipe and executing a trip takedown. Jad locks a kimura and forces Haynes to defend. Jad settles for a couple of cross-body chops to Hayness temple. Jay presses the action while in the guard, but Jad Felipe is able to switch him into mount. Jay Haynes shifts his head and hips to keep Felipe off balance and unable to land strikes. Jay Haynes gets pummeled by the fists of Jad Felipe. Jay Haynes gives up his back in an attempt to escape, but doesn't quite make it. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 4 Jad Felipe fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Jay. Felipe receieves numerous knees to the thighs from Haynes. Felipe attempts a takedown from the clinch, but Jay pulls a switch on him, ultimately leading to both fighters on their feet. Jad attempts a takedown, but Haynes clumsily falls down without much provocation. Jad Felipe stands over Jay Haynes, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Jay Haynes is able to grab an arm and pull Jad Felipe into his guard. Jad takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Jay Hayness guard. It doesn't pay off as Haynes makes his way to standing. Haynes presses forward and is able to jump up and grab onto Jad, aggressively pulling guard. Jay throws a couple of chop shots but Jad Felipe returns with vicious ground and pound. Felipe takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Jays guard. It doesn't pay off as Jay Haynes makes his way to standing. Round 4 is over.
Round 5 Jad circles Jay, landing jabs at will. Felipe circles Jay, landing jabs and crosses at will. Jad Felipe tries to hyperextend the knee of Jay with a kick to the kneecap. Jay hops back to avoid it. Jay Haynes throws a hard jab but Jad throws a cross right over the top rocking Jay Haynes. The round comes to an end.
