Round 1 Nejem connects with a series of punches forcing Makoni into a clinch. "The Saad Saad Man" lands a powerful knee to the face of Makoni. Nejem grabs the plum and lands several knees to the legs Mashinda. Mashinda weaves through a jab-cross combo but is hit with a nasty hook. Mashinda Makoni attempts a jab but is countered by a hard right leg kick to the knee and is instantly followed by an upward elbow strike that rocks him. Mashinda lands a strong outside leg kick but is hit with a heavy counter hook. Mashinda begins a combination but Saad Nejem ducks down, picking Mashindas leg. Saad Nejem lifts Mashindas leg as high as he can and throws a sweeping leg kick. "The Saad Saad Man" stands over Makoni, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Makoni cannot trap him in his guard and pushes him away instead. The round comes to an end.
Round 2 Mashinda Makoni connects with a right that puts "The Saad Saad Man" off balance tumbling to the mat, as Mashinda Makoni towers over him. Makoni attempts to drop a fist on Saad Nejem, but misses and lands in his guard. A strong chopping strike hits Mashinda across the face. Mashinda lands a series of return strikes. "The Saad Saad Man" attempts a few a shots from the guard, but gets mounted for his troubles. Nejem attempts to buck Makoni off from mount but Makoni keeps his base and maintains position. Saad gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Mashinda lands a series of heavy punches forcing Saad Nejem to roll to his back, giving Mashinda mount. Mashinda Makoni postures up and begins to fire off rapid shots from mount but Saad tripods up and sweeps him over to his back. Saad quickly gets himself to mount. The round comes to an end.
Round 3 Mashinda connects with a hard punch making "The Saad Saad Man" bring him in to a tight clinch. Mashinda Makoni is able to work to two overhooks and lands some strong knees and short hooks. Nejem takes Makonis back standing, but Mashinda Makoni isolates an arm and locks a spinning kimura but Nejem squirms out and both fighters end up standing. Makoni connects with a right that puts Nejem off balance tumbling to the mat, as Makoni towers over him. Mashinda stands over Saad, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Saad is able to grab an arm and pull Mashinda into his guard. Saad Nejem attempts a switch from the guard, but a scramble takes place getting both fighters to their feet. Saad Nejem tries to stop a shot with a punch but Makoni plows through Saads attempt and ends up in guard. "The Saad Saad Man" is hit with a series of powerful punches while utilizing the guard. Saad Nejem attempts a kimura from the bottom. Mashinda blocks the attempt and smothers Saad Nejem to force him to let go of Makonis arm. Round 3 comes to a close.
Round 4 Saad Nejem lands a left hook, only to follow up with a strong kick to the ribs. Saad connects with a hard punch making Mashinda bring him in to a tight clinch. A strong elbow forces Mashinda Makoni to lose his balance and fall to the floor. Saad Nejem hovers over Makoni pushing his legs to the side and throwing punches down at his body and head. Makoni sends a hard up kick that rocks Saad Nejem. Makoni stands back up. Nejem hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. Saad connects with a hard punch making Mashinda Makoni bring him in to a tight clinch. Saad places a few punches to the ribs while tied up. Nejem directs the head of Makoni leading to a stiff knee to the face. The bell signals the end of round 4.
Round 5 The fighters circle one another hopping in and out trying to find their range. Makoni connects with numerous jabs to the face of Saad. Saad Nejem gets hit with a strong punch, putting him to the mat, but he recovers just in time to give up his back. Mashinda Makoni begins to look for a rear naked choke, but Saad rolls to being mounted instead. "The Saad Saad Man" lands a good elbow as Mashinda Makoni lowers his torso. Makoni splits Saads nose open with a well timed punch. The round comes to an end.
