Round 1 Asaka Inoue throws a few jabs at Cherilyn that miss the mark. A trip to the ground allows Cherilyn to move into the guard of Asaka Inoue. Cherilyn frees a leg and moves into half guard. Inoue goes to deep half guard and rocks forward then backward hitting a sweep on Jia and ending up in side control. Asaka lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Round 1 is over.
Round 2 Asaka throws a cross that easily dodged by Cherilyn Jia. Jia hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. Cherilyn slides in for a leg lock but Asaka is too strong and cant be taken down. Asaka bends over and lands some tough shots to the face of Cherilyn, eventually falling into half guard. Cherilyn Jia slips out of half guard and into side control. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 A shot is side stepped by Jia but quick reflexes and footwork lead to a second attempt that takes down Jia. Inoue settles into her guard. Cherilyn Jia fires elbows off her back to the top of the head of "Assaka". Jia attempts a switch from the guard, but a scramble takes place getting both fighters to their feet. Jia winds up a heavy straight but is countered by a hard counter knee to the body. Asaka Inoue connects with a hard jab as Cherilyn attempts a wide outside hook. An outside leg trip puts Asaka into side control. Asaka Inoue lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Inoue slides her knee across the body of Cherilyn Jia and takes full mount. Round 3 is finished.
Round 4 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. "Assaka" works the clinch to her advantage, carefully connecting with precise strikes. Inoue dodges an uppercut to the chin, though loses her balance and falls to the ground, with Cherilyn standing over her. Cherilyn Jia attempts to drop a fist on Asaka Inoue, but misses and lands in her guard. "Assaka" connects with some unorthodox punches from the bottom position. Cherilyn Jia tries to pass guard but Asaka Inoue stops her with a well timed punch. Inoue connects with some unorthodox punches from the bottom position. Inoue sets in an omaplata, forcing Cherilyn to roll through, giving Inoue side control. Round 4 comes to a close.
Round 5 Cherilyn connects with a hard jab as Inoue attempts a wide outside hook. Asaka Inoue connects with a series of punches forcing Cherilyn Jia into a clinch. "Assaka" uses her under and overhook to hit a solid body toss takedown, landing in full guard. Cherilyn Jia connects with several chop shots from the bottom. Cherilyn backs out of the guard after some unsuccessful motions and both fighters are standing. Asaka Inoue attempts a takedown but slips, and Cherilyn Jia backs away. Cherilyn Jia is standing over Asaka Inoue. Round 5 is over.
