Round 1 Jamie eats a jab,jab, then a hook from Collins. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Jamie receieves numerous knees to the thighs from Collins. Jamie Delaney works to Collinss back while standing. Jamie Delaney throws a couple of outside shots until Collins is able to work his way back to the clinch. Dirk Collins receieves numerous knees to the thighs from Jamie. Collins continues to maintain the clinch, creating space often for strong elbows. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. "Big Lad" is able to work to two overhooks and lands some strong knees and short hooks. Collins attempts a takedown from the clinch, but "Big Lad" pulls a switch on him, ultimately leading to both fighters on their feet. Jamie snaps back the head of Dirk with a stiff jab. Jamie parries Dirk Collinss jab and connect with a cross. Dirk Collins throws a cross that easily dodged by Delaney. Delaney lands a hook and immediately shoots in, lifts Dirk up and dumps him over his shoulder in a powerful display. Delaney turns quickly to capitalize but Dirk is quick to turn to his back while he recomposes. Jamie Delaney stands over Collins, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Collins cannot trap him in his guard and pushes him away instead. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Dirk Collins connects with a series of punches forcing Jamie Delaney into a clinch. A strong elbow forces Jamie Delaney to lose his balance and fall to the floor. Dirk kicks at the legs of "Big Lad" and then asks him to stand up. The referee tells "Big Lad" to stand. Dirk Collins lands a devastating overhand right on Jamie. Dirk Collins pressures his opponent into clinching. Delaney is hit by successive knees on either side of his ribcage. Collins works "Big Lad" into the cage from the clinch. Collins presses his head under Jamies chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Dirk Collins works to Jamies back while standing. Round 4 Dirk starts to put on the pressure, forcing Jamie Delaney back into the cage. Dirk takes advantage and clinches. Dirk Collins maintains his dominant position in the clinch, only opening for a stiff uppercut. Collins drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. "Big Lad" sets a guillotine choke but Collins slips out at the last moment. Collins is now caught in guard. Delaney begins to posture on his side. Dirk Collins lands a couple of outside hooks and Delaney returns to the guard. Dirk Collins uses strikes to open "Big Lads" guard. Dirk Collins stands up and waves Delaney up. A wild hook from Jamie is ducked by Dirk Collins who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. Jamie Delaney throws a crisp jab, but Dirk Collins slips it and moves in for the clinch. Jamie is hit by successive knees on either side of his ribcage. Delaney is in the clinch, but drops levels, scoops Dirk up and slams him hard onto the floor.Round 4 comes to a close.
Round 5 "Big Lad" attempts a striking combination, but Dirk Collins forces the clinch. Jamie receieves numerous knees to the thighs from Dirk. Dirk executes a an impressive greco-roman takedown from the clinch, putting him in guard. Jamie Delaney begins to posture on his side. Collins lands a couple of outside hooks and Jamie Delaney returns to the guard. Jamie Delaney backs out of the guard after some unsuccessful motions and both fighters are standing. "Big Lad" throws a powerful left hook, but is met with a strong jab from Collins. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Dirk works Jamie Delaney into the cage from the clinch. Dirk presses his head under Delaneys chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. A couple of short uppercuts from the clinch opens up Dirk Collins for a double-leg dump by Jamie Delaney who lands in side control.Round 5 comes to a close.
