Round 1 Joey Jodoin throws a cross that easily dodged by Barry. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Barry uses his under and overhook to hit a solid body toss takedown, landing in full guard. Barry Thomas takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Joeys guard. It doesn't pay off as Joey Jodoin makes his way to standing. Thomas narrowly dodges a cross from Jodoin, but falls catching him in his guard. Barry Thomas shifts his hips to get better position in the guard. Barry Thomas lands a stiff elbow while on his back. Barry Thomas attempts an ambar from the guard. Joey defends it but is switched to mount. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 Joey Jodoin connects with a strong right hook. Barry narrowly dodges a cross from Jodoin, but falls catching him in his guard. Thomas is pummeled by some well timed bombs from Jodoin. An heel strike attempt is dodged by Jodoin and he traps Barrys extended leg to move to half guard. Joey Jodoin tries to pull his leg out of half guard, but no luck. Jodoin slips out of half guard and into side control. Barry Thomas gives his back up in an attempt to get out of side control. Barry starts to wiggle out of back control, Joey lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Barry Thomas arm drags Joey Jodoin into a double leg takedown, getting half guard. The round comes to an end.
Round 3 Joey loses his balance from a well timed strike, and is awkwardly taken down by Barry Thomas for the mistake. Barry Thomas has side control. Barry slides his knee across the body of Joey and takes full mount. Joey Jodoin attempts to escape mount but has no luck. Joey Jodoin gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Barry Thomas peppers Jodoin with several shots to the face. Joey tripods up, causing Thomas to fall forward. A scramble ensues and Joey is able to take half guard.Round 3 comes to a close.
