Round 1 Ruiz throws a cross that easily dodged by Cleto Romero. Cristoforo Ruiz narrowly dodges a cross from Romero, but falls catching him in his guard. Ruiz lands a stiff elbow while on his back. "DBA" attempts to drop bombs while caught in the guard, but Cristoforo takes the chance to switch "DBA" over to mount him. Cristoforo maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. Cristoforo secures his position. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 Cleto Romero keeps Ruiz at a distance with some well timed jabs. A single-leg attempt is well defended by Cristoforo. Romero stands up, lifting the leg of Cristoforo and executing a trip takedown. Cleto Romero attempts to set in a hammer lock from being caught in the guard. Ruiz slips out of it at the last moment. A kimura attempt is defended well by "DBA" and he is able to sneak his leg through Cristoforos loose guard, to half guard. Cleto Romero slams his knee into Ruizs ribs. Round 3 The fighters circle each other. Cristoforo stuffs a shot from "DBA" and hits him with an outside body shot. "DBA" gives up on the takedown and pulls guard. Ruiz attempts to set in a hammer lock from being caught in the guard. Cleto Romero slips out of it at the last moment. Romero gives up guard avoiding a powerful hammer fist. He now has half guard.
