Round 1 Diaz connects with a strong body shot combo. Mau Diaz connects with a strong body shot combo. Diaz connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Diaz winds up a heavy straight but is countered by a hard counter knee to the body. Mau Diaz hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. Du Toit connects with a jab cross combination. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 "Watermelon" unleashes a flurry of punches on Lungelo Du Toit. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Lungelo Du Toit receives a couple of stiff short hooks in the clinch. Diaz receieves numerous knees to the thighs from Lungelo. Lungelo escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Mau Diaz parries Du Toits jab and connect with a cross. "Watermelon" hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. Lungelos legs are wobbled by a strong hook to the temple then a shovel punch to the jaw. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Lungelo comes forward, throwing a short hook that distracts Mau Diaz. Lungelo then grabs an overhook and uses a small outside-hook throw and takes side control. Lungelo Du Toit slides his knee across the body of Diaz and takes full mount. Lungelo Du Toit secures his position. Mau gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Mau Diaz carefully protects himself from Lungelo Du Toits strikes. Mau Diaz tripods up, causing Lungelo to fall forward. A scramble ensues and Mau Diaz is able to take half guard. Round 3 is over.
Round 4 "El Fuego Libre" dives in for a takedown but the momentum of the attempt ends in a scramble back to their feet. Du Toit lands a double jab. Lungelo Du Toit is staggered by a jab to the chin. Diaz circles Du Toit, mixing jabs and leg kicks. Diaz connects with a jab cross combination. Round 4 is finished.
Round 5 Du Toit circles "Watermelon", mixing jabs with body shots. Lungelo Du Toit tries to hyperextend the knee of Diaz with a kick to the kneecap. Diaz hops back to avoid it. "Watermelon" attempts a lazy shot, which Du Toit sprawls, eventually taking "Watermelon" back. Du Toit slides to the side and spanks the butt of Mau in a sign of disrespect. The crowd laughs uncontrollably. "Watermelon" starts to wiggle out of back control, Lungelo Du Toit lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. A welt begins to form under Mau Diazs eye after a strong cross-hook landed from "El Fuego Libre". Round 5 comes to a close.
