Round 1 A trip to the ground allows Lawson to move into the guard of Clay. Lawson pulls out of the guard of "Mr Sandman", stands up, feels it out, and drops a huge right hand to the jaw of "Mr Sandman". Peter Lawson passes through Clays guard into mount. "Mr Sandman" gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Peter Lawson tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. "Mr Sandman" starts to wiggle out of back control, Peter Lawson lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Clay Foster connects with a series of punches forcing Peter into a clinch. Clay Foster works to Lawsons back while standing. Clay Foster throws a couple of outside shots until Peter Lawson is able to work his way back to the clinch. While tied up, "Mr Sandman" is met with a hard uppercut. Clay lands a strong outside leg kick but is met with a counter hook from Lawson that puts him on the floor. Peter Lawson hovers over Clay Foster pushing his legs to the side and throwing punches down at his body and head. Peter Lawson throws the leg aside and takes side control. Round 1 is finished.
Round 2 Lawson parries "Mr Sandmans" jab and connect with a cross. "Mr Sandman" parries a jab but leaves himself open for an uppercut. Clay throws a push kick. Lawson shucks it and strikes with a overhand that crashes into "Mr Sandmans" nose.
Clay Foster weaves through a jab-cross combo but is met with a strong knee. Peter Lawson counters a jab with a stiff uppercut. "Mr Sandman" attempts a striking combination, but Peter Lawson forces the clinch. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 Lawson feints and follows up with a hard cross. Clay stalks forward paws away with a couple jabs missing the mark. Lawson connects with 1-2 jab hook combo and quickly steps away. The fighters circle one another hopping in and out trying to find their range. Lawson parries Clays jab and lands an uppercut that floors Clay Foster. Peter Lawson cannot find an opening to pounce. The ref brings Clay back to his feet. A lazy leg kick from Clay Foster is caught by Peter Lawson who lands a huge overhand right, flooring Clay Foster. "Mr Sandman" thrusts his leg into Lawsons knee while grounded. Peter Lawson kicks at the legs of Foster and then asks him to stand up. The referee tells Foster to stand. "Mr Sandman" hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. Peter Lawson connects with jab cross combination. Round 3 comes to a close.
Round 4 Clay Foster lands a double jab. Clay Foster attempts a striking combination, but Lawson forces the clinch. The fighters jockey for position in the clinch. A rising hip toss puts Peter under Fosters side control. Lawson gives his back up in an attempt to get out of side control. Lawson tripods up, causing Clay Foster to fall forward. As Clay Foster tries to scramble up Lawson lands a lunging hook, putting Clay Foster on the ground. Lawson stands up and looks to the ref to force Clay Foster into standing. The ref does not comply.Round 4 comes to a close.
Round 5 Both fighters trade glancing shots continuing to find their respective range. "Mr Sandman" connects with a hard punch making Peter bring him in to a tight clinch. Peter Lawson works the clinch to his advantage, carefully connecting with precise strikes. Clay Foster wraps his arm around the back of Peter Lawson and hip tosses him over to his back with an O Goshi throw. Clay Foster lands in side control. Foster drops some good elbows to the face of Lawson forcing him to give up his back. Foster lays into Peter with some strong shots forcing Peter to give up mount position. Round 5 is finished.
