Round 1 Hardy slips a cross from Lou Simmons and lands jab cross to the body. Simmons sends Hardy to the mat with a well timed jab, falling into his guard. Hardy is almost caught in a omoplata but is able to work his way back to guard. Simmons frees a leg and moves into half guard. Garret holds the head of Lou close to avoid shots. Lou slams shots to his opponents ribs and throws hard elbows to the thighs. Garret Hardy holds the head of Simmons close to avoid shots. Round 2 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Simmons works Garret Hardy into the cage from the clinch. Hardy attempts a takedown from the clinch, but Simmons pulls a switch on him, ultimately leading to both fighters on their feet. Garret catches a leg kick from Lou, and puts him on the mat. Round 3 The fighters circle each other. Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Lou escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Lou catches a leg kick from Garret, and puts him on the mat. Hardy attempts a switch from the guard, but a scramble takes place getting both fighters to their feet. Lou Simmons narrowly dodges a cross from Garret Hardy, but falls catching him in his guard. Simmons sets in an omaplata, forcing Garret Hardy to roll through, giving Simmons side control. Garret takes a few knees to the body while under Lou Simmonss side control. Garret Hardy is hit with a heavy knee to the liver and tries to scramble out of side control. Simmons scrambles well and takes Garret Hardys back. Round 3 is finished.
Round 4 Hardy is staggered by a jab to the chin. Garret Hardy takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Garret Hardy connects with 1-2 jab hook combo and quickly steps away. Garret hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. Garret Hardy throws a push kick. Lou shucks it and strikes with a overhand that crashes into Garrets nose.
Simmons takes down Hardy, but remains standing over him. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 5 Both fighters trade glancing shots continuing to find their respective range. Lou dives in for a takedown but the momentum of the attempt ends in a scramble back to their feet. Simmons ducks under a loopy hoop, taking Garret to the mat, and his back. Simmons locks in a body triangle as he takes shots at Garret Hardy. Garret Hardy starts to wiggle out of back control, Simmons lets him escape putting them both on their feet. A welt begins to form under Hardys eye after a strong cross-hook landed from Lou Simmons. Hardy connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. The bell signals the end of round 5.
