Round 1 A trip to the ground allows Turcotte to move into the guard of Koji Choshi. Choshi moves to half guard then is able to grab a butterfly guard, eventually working to standing. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. The fighters jockey for position in the clinch. Turcotte takes Kojis back standing, but Koji isolates an arm and locks a spinning kimura ending up in side mount. Turcotte tries to get back to full guard, but has to settle with half guard.Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Turcotte attempts a takedown but slips, and Koji Choshi backs away. Koji Choshi is standing over Turcotte. Koji Choshi drops a huge strike to Eugenes chin, landing into his guard. "BeastMode" is almost caught in a omoplata but is able to work his way back to guard. Koji drops a few strong punches, opening up Turcottes guard, giving him a chance to pass to mount. Eugene attempts to escape mount but has no luck. Eugene Turcotte gets pummeled by the fists of Koji. Eugene Turcotte gives up his back in an attempt to escape, but doesn't quite make it. Koji lays into "BeastMode" with some strong shots forcing "BeastMode" to give up mount position. "BeastMode" pulls his leg out from under Koji Choshi and gets back to half guard. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 Eugene Turcotte wraps around Kojis waist, and drags him to his back, taking side control Turcotte slides his knee across the body of "Run for Cover" and takes full mount. Turcotte maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. Eugene Turcotte telegraphs his motions for an armbar, but "Run for Cover" gives up his back to stop the attempt. Choshi carefully protects himself from Turcottes strikes. Koji is able to make it back to the standing position. The bell signals the end of round 3.
Round 4 Choshi connects with numerous jabs to the face of "BeastMode". Koji Choshi throws a push kick. Eugene Turcotte shucks it and strikes with a overhand that crashes into "Run for Covers" nose.
Both fighters trade glancing shots continuing to find their respective range. "BeastMode" narrowly dodges a cross from "Run for Cover", but falls catching him in his guard. Round 4 is finished.
Round 5 Eugene Turcotte connects with a hard punch making Choshi bring him in to a tight clinch. Eugene Turcotte works Choshi into the cage from the clinch. Eugene Turcotte presses his head under Choshis chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. While tied up, Choshi is met with a hard uppercut. Eugene winds up a heavy straight but is countered by a hard counter knee to the body. Eugene Turcotte tries to hyperextend the knee of Koji Choshi with a kick to the kneecap. Koji Choshi hops back to avoid it. Koji snaps back the head of Eugene with a stiff jab. Choshi leaps in for a flying triangle attempt but is shoved off and lands hard on his butt. Eugene Turcotte drops a huge strike to Koji Choshis chin, landing into his guard. The bell signals the end of round 5.
