Round 1 Jay throws a cross that easily dodged by Rusty Kelly. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Kelly works Jay into the cage from the clinch. Kelly presses his head under Hayness chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Jay Haynes attempts to grab the plum but is hit by an aggressive uppercut from Rusty. Kelly takes the back of Haynes who works for a kimura. Kelly pulls his arm out of the hold and push Haynes away. Kelly lands a double jab. Rusty lands a hook to the body then a straight cross to the sternum. Jay Haynes parries a jab but leaves himself open for a uppercut that sends him to the canvas. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 Kelly parries Hayness jab and connect with a cross. Kelly catches a leg kick from Haynes, and puts him on the mat. Rusty frees a leg and moves into half guard. Jay goes to deep half guard and rocks forward then backward hitting a sweep on Rusty Kelly and ending up in side control. Kelly sweeps over Jay and quickly obtains mount position. Kelly is pulled in tight, and then switched over on his back. Jay is now caught in Kellys guard. Rusty gives up guard avoiding a powerful hammer fist. He now has half guard. Haynes is able to slip into mount from the half guard. Rusty bucks off Jay Haynes and both fighters get to their feet. Jay fakes a shot and lunges forward pressing Rusty to the cage. Rusty swims for underhooks but is taken down in the process. Round 2 is finished.
Round 3 Kelly connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Rusty blocks a strong high kick from Haynes and counters with a devastating left hook. Haynes throws a few jabs at Rusty that miss the mark. Rusty parries Jays jab and connect with a cross. Jay Haynes dives in for a takedown but the momentum of the attempt ends in a scramble back to their feet.Round 3 comes to a close.
Round 4 Rusty Kelly snaps back the head of Jay with a stiff jab. Jay throws a cross that easily dodged by Rusty. Rusty Kelly peppers Jay Haynes with a flurry of punches that cannot be kept up with. Both fighters trade glancing shots continuing to find their respective range. Kelly connects with 1-2 jab hook combo and quickly steps away. Jay Haynes hunts down his opponent and throws 2 heavy haymakers that get nothing but air. The bell signals the end of round 4.
Round 5 A trip to the ground allows Jay Haynes to move into the guard of Kelly. Jay Haynes drops some good punches while being caught in the guard. Jay sits up in Rusty Kellys open guard and spins to an leg lock. Rusty Kelly is able to gator-roll out of it and make it to standing. Haynes attempts to clinch, but Rusty Kelly connects with an uppercut to the jaw. Jay keeps Rusty Kelly at a distance with some well timed jabs. Jay wraps around Rusty Kellys waist, and drags him to his back, taking side control Haynes attempts to mount, but gets a few punches from Rusty for his troubles. Haynes throws his knee into the ribs of Kelly. Round 5 is finished.
