Round 1 The fighters circle each other. Cliff connects with a hard punch making Vladik bring him in to a tight clinch. Vladik drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. Cliff sets a guillotine choke but Vladik slips out at the last moment. Vladik is now caught in guard. An attempt to pull a switch is blocked by Afanasyev but both fighters end up on their side. Both fighters scramble to a stand up. Cliff dodges a jab and throws a knee to the midsection of Afanasyev. Afanasyev is cut open by a standing elbow strike. The ref stops the fight. The doctor take a look at the cut and determines Afanasyev can continue. Cliff drops his hands and taunts Vladik and does a shimmy with his shoulders. Vladik angrily bolts forward but is met by a picture perfect punch that folds him back onto his legs knocked out.
