Round 1 Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. Bart Hart fakes a shot and lunges forward pressing Hawk to the cage. Hawk swims for underhooks but is taken down in the process. Hawk attempts an armbar. "The Hitman" time a spin perfectly landing a strong overhand as he works his way into Hayess guard. A kimura attempt is defended well by Hart and he is able to sneak his leg through Hawk Hayess loose guard, to half guard. Hart drops an elbow onto the forehead of Hawk Hayes. Hart slams his knee into Hayess ribs. "The Hitman" wraps the arm of Hawk Hayes behind his back and traps it. "The Hitman" pounds away with shots to the face. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 Hawk connects with a strong right hook. Hawk stuffs a shot from Hart and hits him with a hard hook to the temple and pushes him to take his guard. Hayes keeps his head down in the chest of Bart Hart to avoid any submission attempts. Hayes leans up and lands some short punches before lowering back down. A kimura attempt from Bart Hart is countered by a punch from Hayes, who then transitions to half guard. Hawk slams his knee into Harts ribs. Hayes slams his knee into Harts ribs. Round 3 The fighters circle each other. Hawk Hayes connects with a series of punches forcing "The Hitman" into a clinch. Hawk escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Hawk hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. Hayes connects with a hard punch making Hart bring him in to a tight clinch. Hawk drops down and thrusts forward with a textbook double leg takedown. While caught in Harts guard, Hawk gets hit with a vicious elbow. "The Hitman" gives up guard avoiding a powerful hammer fist. He now has half guard. Hayes slips out of half guard and into side control. Hawk throws his knee into the ribs of Bart. Hawk Hayes moves to north-south position. Hart begins to roll out from under Hawk Hayes but Hawk Hayes is able scramble to Harts back. The bell signals the end of round 3.
Round 4 A lazy leg kick from Bart is caught by Hawk Hayes who lands a huge overhand right, flooring Bart. Hawk stands over "The Hitman", works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. "The Hitman" is able to grab an arm and pull Hawk into his guard. A right hand from Bart while in guard angers Hayes who returns the favor with a powerful right hand. Hawk Hayes passes through "The Hitmans" guard into mount. Hawk Hayes punishes Bart Hart with a series of strikes from the mount. Hart gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Hawk Hayes begins to look for a rear naked choke, but Hart rolls to being mounted instead. Hawk Hayes secures his position. The round comes to an end.
Round 5 Hawk throws a hard jab but Bart throws a cross right over the top rocking Hawk. Hayes fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with "The Hitman". Hawk Hayes takes the back of "The Hitman" who works for a kimura. Hawk Hayes pulls his arm out of the hold and push "The Hitman" away. Hawk Hayes hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of Hart. Hawk fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Bart. Hart attempts to grab the plum but is tripped to the floor by Hawk Hayes who lands in his guard. Bart attempts an armbar. Hawk time a spin perfectly landing a strong overhand as he works his way into Barts guard. An heel strike attempt is dodged by Hawk and he traps Bart Harts extended leg to move to half guard. Hawk Hayes presses his foot onto the thigh of Bart Hart to get his own foot free. He successfully releases his leg and moves to side control. Hawk Hayes attempts to mount, but gets a few punches from Bart for his troubles. Hayes lands a few stiff elbows from side control. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
