Round 1 Walt is staggered by a jab to the chin. Walt fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Jiro. Shimaoka is in the clinch with Walt Stevens, and changes levels for a beautiful double leg takedown. Walt attempts a switch from the guard, but a scramble takes place getting both fighters to their feet. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. "Gigantor" dodges an uppercut to the chin, though loses his balance and falls to the ground, with Stevens standing over him. Stevens lays into "Gigantors" thighs and then backs off and tells him to stand up. Shimaoka does so. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 After dodging a jab, Stevens lands a kick to the liver of Shimaoka who steps back only to take a knee. Stevens rushes forward to capitalize but Shimaoka falls to his back to avoid the onslaught. Walt Stevens grabs a foot and kicks at "Gigantors" thighs. He then backs off and Jiro Shimaoka stands back up. Jiro Shimaoka is hit with a jab then hook to the body and stumbles backward. Walt explodes forward with a push kick that puts Jiro Shimaoka on the canvas. Stevens lays into "Gigantors" thighs and then backs off and tells him to stand up. Shimaoka does so. Jiro attempts a striking combination, but Stevens forces the clinch. Walt works to Shimaokas back while standing. Walt throws a couple of outside shots until Jiro is able to work his way back to the clinch. "Gigantor" attempts a knee but is taken down by a basic trip. Walt lands in half guard. Walt opens a cut over the eye of Jiro Shimaoka. The doctor takes a look at it, and says he's okay to continue. Jiro tries to scramble out of half guard, but Stevens takes his back during it. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 3 Jiro Shimaoka takes a punch to the jaw. He drops his hands and asks Stevens to hit him harder. Walt Stevens is hit with a jab-cross and then brutally shoved to the ground. Jiro falls into his guard, delivering a strong punch as he does so. Walt Stevens lands a stiff elbow while on his back. A couple of hard outside strikes opens up Walt Stevenss guard and Jiro Shimaoka is able to move to half guard. Jiro drops an elbow onto the forehead of Walt. Jiro Shimaoka drops an elbow onto the forehead of Walt Stevens. Jiro Shimaoka tries to pull his leg out of half guard, but no luck. Round 3 is finished.
Round 4 Shimaoka plows through Walt Stevens with a driving double leg takedown. Walt Stevens is hit with a series of powerful punches while utilizing the guard. Jiro Shimaoka takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Stevenss guard. It doesn't pay off as Walt makes his way to standing. "Gigantor" takes a punch to the jaw. He drops his hands and asks Stevens to hit him harder. Shimaoka lands a double jab. Walt Stevens is brought to his back by a well executed takedown from Shimaoka. Shimaoka now has side control. "Gigantor" lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Shimaoka slides his knee across the body of Stevens and takes full mount. The round comes to an end.
Round 5 Stevens tries to stop a shot with a punch but Jiro plows through Stevenss attempt and ends up in guard. Stevens attempts an armbar. Jiro Shimaoka time a spin perfectly landing a strong overhand as he works his way into Walts guard. Jiro Shimaoka takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Walt Stevenss guard. It doesn't pay off as Walt makes his way to standing. Stevens dodges a jab and throws a knee to the midsection of "Gigantor". A welt begins to form under Walts eye after a strong cross-hook landed from "Gigantor". Walt Stevens shoots but "Gigantor" stuffs it, eventually working in a whizzer and landing some sharp knees that allows him to move to side mount. Jiro Shimaoka lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Shimaoka moves to north-south position. Walt Stevens begins to roll out from under Shimaoka but Shimaoka is able scramble to Walt Stevenss back. Round 5 comes to a close.
