Round 1 Curro Gonzales eats a jab,jab, then a hook from Requiao. Murilo Requiao fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Gonzales. Gonzales attempts to grab the plum but is tripped to the floor by Requiao who lands in his guard. Murilo takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Gonzaless guard. It doesn't pay off as Curro Gonzales makes his way to standing. Curro Gonzales sends Murilo to the mat with a well timed jab, falling into his guard. Murilo Requiao begins to work the rubber guard. Curro tries to pass guard but Requiao stops him with a well timed punch. Murilo Requiao works the rubber guard on Curro Gonzales, eventually allowing an omaplata to be set in. Curro Gonzales quickly taps out.
