Round 1
After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Sherk gets double underhooks, and unleashes unanswered knees to the midsection. A strong elbow forces BJ to lose his balance and fall to the floor. "The MCC Prodigy" attempts to drop a fist on Sherk, but misses and lands in his guard. BJ lands a stiff elbow while on his back. Sherk dodges some ground strikes from Alvaro Carvalho, and sends a few back of his own. Alvaro Carvalho tries to pass guard but BJ stops him with a well timed punch. Sherk works for a triangle but Carvalho throws "The MuscleProdigys" straight leg over his head and makes it to half guard.Round 1 comes to a close.

Round 2
Sherk presses forward and grazes Alvaro Carvalho with a combo. Alvaro Carvalho wants none of the stand up and clinches with Sherk to then savagely throw him down to the ground. "The MCC Prodigy" attempts to drop a fist on Sherk, but misses and lands in his guard. "The MCC Prodigy" drops a few strong punches, opening up BJs guard, giving him a chance to pass to mount. "The MuscleProdigy" gets pummeled by the fists of Alvaro Carvalho. "The MuscleProdigy" gives up his back in an attempt to escape, but doesn't quite make it. Sherk carefully protects himself from Alvaro Carvalhos strikes. "The MCC Prodigy" peppers BJ with several shots to the face. The bell signals the end of round 2.

Round 3
BJ circles Carvalho, mixing jabs and leg kicks. Sherk fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Carvalho. Alvaro spikes BJ into the mat with a powerful slam takedown. Sherk attempts a switch from the guard, but a scramble takes place getting both fighters to their feet. Alvaro Carvalho narrowly dodges a cross from BJ, but falls catching him in his guard. Alvaro Carvalho connects with some unorthodox punches from the bottom position. Sherk tries to pass guard but Carvalho stops him with a well timed punch. While using the guard Carvalho sets in an unconventional shoulder lock. BJ taps.
