Round 1 Zeke Caron keeps Barry at a distance with some well timed jabs. Zeke Caron keeps Thomas at a distance with some well timed jabs. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Caron attempts a takedown from the clinch, but Thomas pulls a switch on him, ultimately leading to both fighters on their feet. Barry catches a leg kick from Caron, and puts him on the mat. Barry Thomas takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Zekes guard. It doesn't pay off as Caron makes his way to standing. Zeke stuffs a shot from Thomas and hits him with an outside body shot. Thomas gives up on the takedown and pulls guard. Barry Thomas sets in an omaplata, forcing Zeke Caron to roll through, giving Barry Thomas side control. Barry lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Zeke gives his back up in an attempt to get out of side control. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 Thomas snaps back the head of Zeke Caron with a stiff jab. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Zeke Caron attempts to grab the plum but is tripped to the floor by Barry Thomas who lands in his guard. Barry takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Zekes guard. It doesn't pay off as Zeke makes his way to standing. Barry narrowly dodges a cross from Caron, but falls catching him in his guard. Barry lands a stiff elbow while on his back. Caron tries to pass guard but Barry stops him with a well timed punch. Barry Thomas sinks a deep kimura, but Zeke Caron slides out. This gives Barry Thomas the chance to switch to half guard. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 Thomas takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Zeke Caron takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Barry ducks under a loopy hoop, taking Caron to the mat, and his back. Barry Thomas tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. Zeke starts to wiggle out of back control, Barry lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Caron eats a jab,jab, then a hook from Barry. Barry narrowly dodges a cross from Caron, but falls catching him in his guard. Round 3 is finished.
