Howard fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Grant. Gerard works the clinch to his advantage, carefully connecting with precise strikes. Gerard attempts to pull guard, but slips, putting him on the ground, and with Grant Butler standing over him. Grant attempts to drop a fist on "The Mullet", but misses and lands in his guard. Howard shifts his hips to get better position in the guard. Grant Butler tries to pass guard but Gerard Howard stops him with a well timed punch. Howard lands a stiff elbow while on his back. Butler is caught in a triangle while in Gerards guard. He struggles but cannot get out. He eventually taps.
