Round 1
Richard Carter connects with a strong right hook. Richard Carter circles Pablo, landing jabs at will. The fighters circle each other. Richard Carter parries Pablo Rodriguezs jab and connect with a cross. Rodriguez circles "Step into my Van", mixing jabs and leg kicks. Richard Carter stuffs a shot from Pablo Rodriguez and strikes two solid knees to his skull. Pablo Rodriguez is stunned and Richard Carter takes mount with in a quick scramble. Round 1 comes to a close.

Round 2
Pablo is brought to his back by a well executed takedown from "Step into my Van". "Step into my Van" now has side control. Richard slides his knee across the body of Pablo and takes full mount. Carter throws some outside strikes at Pablo Rodriguez. Rodriguez gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Pablo tries to explode out the backdoor but Richard sinks in both hooks, continually landing outside strikes. Pablo falls flat to protect himself. Carter tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. The bell signals the end of round 2.

Round 3
After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. "Step into my Van" receieves numerous knees to the thighs from Pablo Rodriguez. Rodriguez escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Richard Carter throws a powerful left hook, but is met with a strong jab from Rodriguez. Richard ducks and weaves through a quick combo from Rodriguez and knocks him back with a shovel punch to the jaw. After dodging a jab-cross, Pablo lands a kick to the liver of Richard who steps back and begins to take a knee. Pablo rushes forward to capitalize but Richard stands back up and is met by a strong cross-uppercut that again backs him up. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
