Round 1 "The Fighter" ducks under a loopy hoop, taking Teixeira to the mat, and his back. Aitor is working a furious pace on Teixeira, intermingling strikes with positional dominance at will. Octavio Teixeira starts to wiggle out of back control, Aitor Vargas lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Octavio shoots but Aitor stuffs it, eventually using a whizzer to work to side control. Aitor Vargas attempts an armbar, but Octavio stops the attempt. Aitor Vargas uses the oppurtunity to take mount. Octavio Teixeira pulls Vargas close to avoid a flurry of strikes. Aitor punishes Octavio with a series of strikes from the mount. Round 1 is finished.
Round 2 Octavio Teixeira throws a cross that easily dodged by Aitor Vargas. Octavio Teixeira connects with a strong body shot combo. Vargas lands a double jab. Teixeira throws a wild punch, putting him off balance. A few well timed strikes from Aitor puts Teixeira on the mat giving his back up. "The Fighter" slides off to the side of Octavio Teixeira and lands several heavy knees into his ribs. Before he can lose the position, "The Fighter" switches back to full back control. Vargas is working a furious pace on Octavio Teixeira, intermingling strikes with positional dominance at will. Round 2 comes to a close.
Round 3 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Octavio Teixeira works "The Fighter" into the cage from the clinch. Octavio Teixeira presses his head under Aitors chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Aitor Vargas takes Teixeiras back standing. Teixeira isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but Aitor Vargas lands a sharp shovel punch that forces Teixeira to release. Octavio takes Aitor down to the mat with a good double leg takedown, leading to him standing over Aitor. Teixeira attempts to drop a fist on Aitor Vargas, but misses and lands in his guard. Teixeira sits up in Aitor Vargass open guard and spins to an leg lock. Vargas is able to gator-roll out of it and make it to standing. Aitor narrowly dodges a cross from Octavio Teixeira, but falls catching him in his guard. Aitor is hit with a series of powerful punches while utilizing the guard. Octavio Teixeira begins to stand up with Aitor Vargas still holding guard. As Aitor Vargas opens his guard Octavio Teixeira spins to a kneebar. Aitor Vargas tries to punch at Octavio Teixeira who has now sunk the hold. Aitor Vargas screams out and taps feverishly.
