Round 1 Fu attempts to press in but Petri uses a inside reaping to put Fu on the canvas. Petri hops to side control. Mauro Petri attempts an armbar, but Gen stops the attempt. Mauro Petri uses the oppurtunity to take mount. Petri punishes Gen with a series of strikes from the mount. Petri telegraphs his motions for an armbar, but Gen gives up his back to stop the attempt. Mauro tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. Fu rolls through, putting Mauro Petri into his guard. The round comes to an end.
Round 2 Mauro connects with a hard punch making Gen bring him in to a tight clinch. Petri receives a couple of stiff short hooks in the clinch. Fu dodges an uppercut to the chin, though loses his balance and falls to the ground, with Mauro standing over him. Mauro attempts to drop a fist on Gen, but misses and lands in his guard. Gen Fu shifts his hips to get better position in the guard. Gen begins to posture on his side. Petri lands a couple of outside hooks and Gen returns to the guard. Mauro Petri tries to pass guard but Gen Fu stops him with a well timed punch. Petri takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Gens guard. It doesn't pay off as Gen Fu makes his way to standing.Round 2 comes to a close.
Round 3 Mauro Petri dives in for a takedown but the momentum of the attempt ends in a scramble back to their feet. Fu sends Mauro Petri to the mat with a well timed jab, falling into his guard. Mauro dodges some ground strikes from Gen Fu, and sends a few back of his own. Gen Fu postures up from guard looking for punches but Mauro Petri grabs both his hands and stretches him out. Using his momentum against him Mauro Petri back somersaults bringing Gen Fu with him ending with Mauro Petri having full mount. Gen attempts to buck Mauro off from mount but Mauro keeps his base and maintains position. Gen Fu attempts to escape mount but has no luck. Round 3 is over.
