Round 1
James hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of Edu. Gonzales is staggered by a jab to the chin. Shawn James takes a punch to the jaw. He drops his hands and asks Gonzales to hit him harder. James connects with jab cross combination. Edu is staggered by a jab to the chin. The fighters circle one another hopping in and out trying to find their range. Round 1 comes to a close.

Round 2
James hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of Edu. Shawn fakes a shot and lunges forward pressing Gonzales to the cage. Gonzales swims for underhooks but is taken down in the process. Shawn takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Gonzaless guard. It doesn't pay off as Edu makes his way to standing. James connects with numerous jabs to the face of Edu. Shawn connects with a series of punches forcing Gonzales into a clinch. James grabs the plum and tosses Gonzales to the ground. Shawn lays into Edu Gonzaless thighs with some well timed kicks while Edu is grounded. Round 2 is finished.

Round 3
Gonzales is caught with a double leg takedown, forcing him to give side control. Gonzales is wisely defending a kimura. James attempts to take it but Gonzales is having none of it, though James has used the chance the slide into mount. Edu Gonzales lands a good elbow as Shawn lowers his torso. Edu Gonzales gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Shawn James slides to the side and spanks the butt of Edu Gonzales in a sign of disrespect. The crowd laughs uncontrollably. Edu Gonzales eats a few stiff shots from James, and rolls giving mount to stop the ref from ending the fight. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
