Round 1 Cheon connects with a strong body shot combo. Kevin tries to hyperextend the knee of Ortiz with a kick to the kneecap. Ortiz hops back to avoid it. Kevin Cheon hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. Both fighters begin to exchange Ortiz catches Kevin Cheon with an eye poke. Round 2 Cheon connects with a combination and backs away from the counter combo of Ortiz. Kevin Cheon narrowly dodges a cross from Ruben Ortiz, but falls catching him in his guard. Kevin gives up guard avoiding a powerful hammer fist. He now has half guard. Cheon grabs an overhook and kicks his leg out to snatch an omoplata. Ruben rolls over giving up side control. Ruben Ortiz sweeps over Kevin Cheon and quickly obtains mount position. Ruben is pulled in tight, and then switched over on his back. Kevin Cheon is now caught in Rubens guard. Ortiz gives up guard avoiding a powerful hammer fist. He now has half guard. Cheon is able to slip into mount from the half guard. Ruben arches his body up to buck off Kevin Cheon from mount. A scramble takes place leading to both fighters back to their feet. Both fighters begin to exchange Ortiz catches Cheon with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets Cheon gather himself. Cheon says he is ok and the fight continues.Round 2 comes to a close.
Round 3 Cheon throws a cross that easily dodged by Ruben Ortiz. Cheon hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. Ruben Ortiz executes a single leg giving him the back of Cheon. Ortiz attempts to lock in a rear naked choke, but Kevin rolls into to mount to cleverly avoid it. Ortiz secures his position. Ruben swings his leg over locking in a textbook armbar. Kevin Cheon taps out.
