Round 1 Wesley Stevenson connects with a brutal kick to the liver of Rick who falls to the ground. Wesley Stevenson waves him back to his feet. Rick hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. Rick Shelton locks in a tight muay thai clinch and lands several knees to the ribs of Wesley. Stevenson grabs the plum and pulls Ricks face towards a powerful knee which is blocked. Stevenson lets go of the hold and lands a hook. Rick Shelton is caught square on the jaw putting him to the canvas, Wesley prepares to pounce, but Rick Shelton gets his bearings just in time. Wesley drops a huge strike to Ricks chin, landing into his guard. Round 1 is finished.
Round 2 Wesley Stevenson lands a strong outside leg kick and follows it up with a jab-cross combo. Wesley Stevenson circles Rick Shelton, landing jabs and crosses at will. Rick eats a stiff kick to the face. Stevenson grabs the plum and lands a strong elbow to the head of Rick Shelton. A wild hook from Shelton is ducked by Stevenson who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. Rick begins a combination but Wesley ducks down, picking Rick Sheltons leg. Wesley lifts Rick Sheltons leg as high as he can and throws a sweeping leg kick. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 After dodging a jab-cross, Wesley Stevenson lands a kick to the liver of Rick Shelton who steps back and begins to take a knee. Wesley Stevenson rushes forward to capitalize but Rick Shelton stands back up and is met by a strong cross-uppercut that again backs him up. Wesley dodges a jab and throws a knee to the midsection of Shelton. Stevenson connects with a hard punch making Rick bring him in to a tight clinch. Wesley grabs the plum and lands several knees to the legs Rick. Wesley connects with a right that puts Rick off balance tumbling to the mat, as Wesley towers over him. Wesley stands over Rick, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Rick is able to grab an arm and pull Wesley into his guard. Rick Shelton slides his body to the side and pushes out of guard. Stevenson grabs a guillotine hold and forces Rick Shelton back down gaining side control. Wesley attempts to mount, but gets a few punches from Rick for his troubles. Rick is hit with a punch that has him dazed. He begins to cover as in a panic. The ref steps in and ends it.
