Round 1 Lapointe connects with a teep to the face of Pedro. Pedro Medina gets hit with a strong punch, putting him to the mat, but he recovers just in time to give up his back. Medina carefully protects himself from "The Calgary Kids" strikes. Medina slips out the back leading to both fighters standing up. Chris attempts to clinch, but Pedro connects with an uppercut to the jaw. Pedro lands a hook to the body. Chris Lapointe takes a punch and goes to the mat, Medina pounces into side control. Chris Lapointe recovers quickly.Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 "Mexico" connects with a hard punch making Lapointe bring him in to a tight clinch. "The Calgary Kid" receives a couple of stiff short hooks in the clinch. Pedro Medina escapes the clinch and creates some distance. "Mexico" is sent backwards from a series of punches from Chris. Lapointe lands a strong outside leg kick but is hit with a strong uppercut. Pedro Medina lands a hook to the body then a straight cross to the sternum. Chris Lapointe parries a jab but leaves himself open for a uppercut that sends him to the canvas. Pedro Medina kicks at the legs of Chris Lapointe and then asks him to stand up. The referee tells Chris Lapointe to stand. The round comes to an end.
Round 3 Pedro Medina eats a stiff kick to the face. "Mexico" eats a strong cross as Lapointe moves into the clinch. "Mexico" drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. Chris Lapointe sets a guillotine choke but "Mexico" slips out at the last moment. "Mexico" is now caught in guard. Lapointe backs out of the guard after some unsuccessful motions and both fighters are standing. Lapointe ducks and weaves through a jab-cross combo but is hit with a nasty uppercut. Chris dodges a jab and lands a kick to the face of Medina. The fighters circle each other. Round 3 is finished.
