Round 1 John Carpenter hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. John Carpenter works to Marty Stevenss back while standing. John Carpenter throws a couple of outside shots until Marty Stevens is able to work his way back to the clinch. The fighters jockey for position in the clinch. Carpenter escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Marty Stevens hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. John throws an axe kick that misses the target. The fighters circle one another hopping in and out trying to find their range. Stevens takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 John connects with a hard jab as Marty Stevens attempts a wide outside hook. Carpenter connects with a hard punch making Marty bring him in to a tight clinch. Marty uses his under and overhook to hit a solid body toss takedown, landing in full guard. John attempts a switch from the guard, but a scramble takes place getting both fighters to their feet. Carpenter throws a kick to the midsection of Marty Stevens. Marty Stevens lowers his hands to block a body kick, but John Carpenter switches to a high kick and rattles the jaw of Marty Stevens.
"Static" connects with a strong body shot combo. Round 2 comes to a close.
Round 3 John Carpenter shuffles away from Martys strikes and lands a powerful chopping kick to the lead leg. Marty backs away, obviously feeling the affects of the kick. A jab from Marty is blocked and a cross is returned by John. Stevens throws a powerful left hook, but is met with a strong jab from John. Both fighters trade glancing shots continuing to find their respective range. John Carpenter lands a crisp kick to the head of Stevens. Stevens goes crashing to the mat. The ref brings this fight to a stop.
