Round 1
Both fighters trade glancing shots continuing to find their respective range. Assis dodges a jab and throws a kick to the midsection of Douglas. Jim is hit with a stiff double jab and stumbles to the mat, rolling to his back. Assis kicks at the legs of Jim and then asks him to stand up. The referee tells Jim to stand. "Thicker Than Oatmeal" parries Jims jab and lands an uppercut that floors "Kumite". "Thicker Than Oatmeal" lays into Douglass thighs with some well timed kicks while "Kumite" is grounded. "Thicker Than Oatmeal" kicks at the legs of "Kumite" and then asks him to stand up. The referee tells "Kumite" to stand. "Thicker Than Oatmeal" throws a hard leg kick but is checked by Jim Douglas. The fighters circle each other. The bell signals the end of round 1.

Round 2
"Thicker Than Oatmeal" sends "Kumite" to the mat with a well timed jab, falling into his guard. Assis drops some good punches while being caught in the guard. Assis Belfort passes through Jim Douglass guard into mount. Jim gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Assis Belfort peppers shot to the head of Jim looking for an opening to apply a rear naked choke but Jim is hand playing well. "Kumite" starts to wiggle out of back control, "Thicker Than Oatmeal" lets him escape putting them both on their feet. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Belfort works Jim Douglas into the cage from the clinch. Belfort presses his head under Douglass chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. While tied up, Douglas is met with a hard uppercut. Jim Douglas throws a hard jab but "Thicker Than Oatmeal" throws a cross right over the top that knocks Jim Douglas to the ground. Assis Belfort stands over Jim, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Jim is able to grab an arm and pull Assis Belfort into his guard. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.

Round 3
Jim Douglas connects with numerous jabs to the face of Belfort. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Assis Belfort drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. "Kumite" sets a guillotine choke but Assis Belfort slips out at the last moment. Assis Belfort is now caught in guard. Assis Belfort uses strikes to open Douglass guard. Assis Belfort stands up and waves Douglas up. Belfort feints and follows up with a hard cross. Jim Douglas stalks forward paws away with a couple jabs missing the mark. Belfort connects with 1-2 jab hook combo and quickly steps away. Jim Douglas lands a strong outside leg kick that is returned by "Thicker Than Oatmeal". Assis lands a strong outside leg kick that is returned by Douglas. The round comes to an end.
