Round 1 Simmons plows through Vilioen with a driving double leg takedown. Glen drops a few strong punches, opening up Kyles guard, giving him a chance to pass to mount. Vilioen gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Kyle Vilioen starts to wiggle out of back control, Simmons lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Simmons stuffs a shot from Vilioen and hits him with a hard hook to the temple and pushes him to take his guard. Simmons takes advantage of a mental laps from Kyle Vilioen and moves into full mount. Kyle gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Simmons works his arm around the neck of Vilioen attempting to get a tight rear naked choke but Vilioen hand fights well. With both hooks in and Kyle face down Glen peppers him with short shots to the head. Kyle turns to defend while kicking a leg out to get to half guard. The round comes to an end.

Glen stands over Vilioen, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Vilioen is able to grab an arm and pull Glen into his guard.
