Round 1 Otsu throws a hard jab but Hans throws a cross right over the top rocking Otsu. Hans throws a flurry connecting with the final punch. Otsu is rocked and stumbles to the ground but quickly shakes it off. Akira dives in for a takedown but the momentum of the attempt ends in a scramble back to their feet. Akira Otsu is staggered by a jab to the chin. Hans narrowly dodges a cross from Akira Otsu, but falls catching him in his guard. Hans lands a stiff elbow while on his back. Akira distracts Hans Swanson with some peppering shots. Akira then isolates a leg and falls back into a achilles lock. Hans Swanson is able to force his way out of it but gives up half guard in the ensuing scramble. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 Akira connects with a hard jab as Hans attempts a wide outside hook. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Hans ducks under to the back of Akira and hops up getting both hooks in. Hans applies a deep choke. Akira fights off the hands and spins around back into the clinch. Hans Swanson decides to abandon the clinch by pulling guard and bringing Akira with him. Hans Swanson gives up guard avoiding a powerful hammer fist. He now has half guard. Swanson positions himself back into full guard. Hans locks a triangle but Akira defends well. Hans continues the attempt but finally decides to let go. Akiras face is red from the choke and sits low in the guard to catch his breath. Swanson works to the butterfly guard. Akira Otsu tries to throw a punch but is off balance and Swanson shoots up to a standing position. Akira Otsu throws a push kick. Hans Swanson shucks it and strikes with a overhand that crashes into Akira Otsus nose.
Swanson keeps Akira at a distance with some well timed jabs. The round comes to an end.
Round 3 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Swanson works to Akira Otsus back while standing. Swanson throws a couple of outside shots until Akira is able to work his way back to the clinch. Swanson decides to abandon the clinch by pulling guard and bringing Akira with him. Hans Swanson fires elbows off his back to the top of the head of Akira Otsu. Hans Swanson keeps his head down in the chest of Akira to avoid any submission attempts. Hans Swanson leans up and lands some short punches before lowering back down. Akira Otsu tries to move to half guard but Hans Swanson uses the opportunity to land several strikes and return to full guard. Swanson grabs the arm of Otsu while in guard and holds tight eating shots to ribs. Round 3 is finished.
