Round 1 Cao connects with a series of punches forcing Dunn into a clinch. The fighters jockey for position in the clinch. Jackson Dunn drops down and thrusts forward with a textbook double leg takedown. Werdum attempts a kimura from the bottom. Dunn blocks the attempt and smothers Werdum who transitions to an armbar attempt. Dunn is able to defend this as well and works back into guard. A right hand from Werdums guard angers Jackson Dunn who returns the favor with a powerful left hand. Cao Werdum lands a stiff elbow while on his back. Jackson tries to pick up Cao Werdum for a powerbomb, but Cao Werdum releases his guard and ends up in stand up. Cao Werdum lands a quick elbow, cross that floors Jackson. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Both fighters begin to exchange Werdum catches "Get er" with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets "Get er" gather himself. "Get er" says he is ok and the fight continues. Jackson throws a hard jab but Cao throws a cross right over the top rocking Jackson. The fighters circle each other. A wild hook from Jackson Dunn is ducked by Cao Werdum who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. Werdum narrowly dodges a cross from Jackson, but falls catching him in his guard. Werdum locks a triangle but Dunn defends well. Werdum continues the attempt but finally decides to let go. Jackson Dunns face is red from the choke and sits low in the guard to catch his breath. Werdum attempts to lock an omoplata, but Jackson Dunn is able to muscle his way back to the guard. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Jackson is staggered by a jab to the chin. Cao parries "Get ers" jab and connect with a cross. Jackson is hit with two hard punches to his face. Jackson laughs off the punches. Jackson connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Dunn lands a hook to the body. Cao Werdum executes a single leg giving him the back of Dunn. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
