Round 1 Byrd fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Hyeon Sik. Yun gets double underhooks, and unleashes unanswered knees to the midsection. "Big" attempts a takedown from the clinch, but Yun pulls a switch on him, ultimately leading to both fighters on their feet. The fighters circle one another hopping in and out trying to find their range. Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. Yun connects with numerous jabs to the face of Ronald. Ronald Byrd dives in for a takedown but the momentum of the attempt ends in a scramble back to their feet. Yun catches a kick from Byrd and drops down for a leg lock. Byrd attempts to spin out of it but the lock is still tight. Yun moves to a kneebar. Byrd fight through the pain and get to side control. The round comes to an end.
Round 2 Yun takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Byrd eats a jab,jab, then a hook from Hyeon Sik. Hyeon Sik connects with numerous jabs to the face of "Big". A trip to the ground allows Ronald Byrd to move into the guard of Hyeon Sik Yun. The round comes to an end.
Round 3 Hyeon Sik Yun winds up a heavy straight but is countered by a hard counter knee to the body. Ronald connects with a hard punch making Yun bring him in to a tight clinch. Hyeon Sik takes the back of Ronald who works for a kimura. Hyeon Sik pulls his arm out of the hold and push Ronald away. Hyeon Sik Yun dives in for a takedown but the momentum of the attempt ends in a scramble back to their feet. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. "Big" drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. Hyeon Sik sets a guillotine choke but "Big" slips out at the last moment. "Big" is now caught in guard. Byrd knocks the wind out of Hyeon Sik Yun with a strong elbow strike to the abdomen. A kimura attempt is defended well by "Big" and he is able to sneak his leg through Yuns loose guard, to half guard. Hyeon Sik hits an upward elbow on Ronald, and attempts to get to full guard. During the scramble though Ronald takes side control. Hyeon Sik Yun takes a few knees to the body while under Ronalds side control. A knee to belly allows Yun to twist from his back, pulling "Big" off balance. Yun then switches him to guard and stands up. Yun allows "Big" to stand. The bell signals the end of round 3.
Round 4 Both fighters move in to strike but miss their marks. As they jockey for position in the clinch Ronald wins the momentum battle and falls into side control on top of Hyeon Sik. "Big" attempts an armbar, but Hyeon Sik Yun stops the attempt. "Big" uses the oppurtunity to take mount. "Big" punishes Hyeon Sik with a series of strikes from the mount. Yun gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Ronald Byrd tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. Ronald Byrd lands a series of heavy punches forcing Yun to roll to his back, giving Ronald Byrd mount. Round 4 is finished.
Round 5 "Big" connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. "Big" throws a cross that easily dodged by Hyeon Sik. Byrd attempts a lazy shot, which Yun sprawls, eventually taking Byrd back. Ronald carefully protects himself from Yuns strikes. Byrd starts to wiggle out of back control, Hyeon Sik Yun lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Yun hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of "Big". Two quick punches opens up "Big" for a takedown. Yun pushes in and executes a forward foot sweep that puts "Big" on his back. Yun falls into side control. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
