Round 1 A wild hook from Hlomuka is ducked by Morne who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. Morne Shinga stuffs a shot from Lukhona and hits him with a hard hook to the temple and pushes him to take his guard. Morne locks a kimura but Hlomuka is too strong and he cannot finish it. He settles for a couple shots to Lukhona Hlomukas face. Lukhona gives up guard avoiding a powerful hammer fist. He now has half guard. Morne is able to slip into mount from the half guard. Shinga telegraphs his motions for an armbar, but Hlomuka gives up his back to stop the attempt. Hlomuka slips out the back leading to both fighters standing up. Morne circles Lukhona Hlomuka, mixing jabs with body shots. Lukhona Hlomuka ducks under a loopy hoop, taking Morne to the mat, and his back. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Morne Shinga works Hlomuka into the cage from the clinch. Morne Shinga presses his head under Lukhona Hlomukas chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Morne recieves a strong elbow opening up the clinch. Morne connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Morne Shinga takes a punch to the jaw. He drops his hands and asks Lukhona to hit him harder. Lukhona Hlomuka connects with jab cross combination. Morne connects with a right that puts Lukhona Hlomuka off balance tumbling to the mat, as Morne towers over him. Morne Shinga drops a huge strike to Lukhona Hlomukas chin, landing into his guard. Round 2 is finished.
Round 3 The fighters circle each other. Morne grabs a single leg and pushes Lukhona Hlomuka to the fence. Both fighters are jockeying for positional control. Morne switches to a double leg but Lukhona Hlomuka does a good job of keeping his base. Lukhona begins to thrust his shoulder in the face of Morne. Morne Shinga attempts to grab the plum but is hit by an aggressive uppercut from Hlomuka. Shinga receives a couple of stiff short hooks in the clinch. Lukhona takes Mornes back standing. Shinga isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but Lukhona lands a sharp shovel punch that forces Shinga to release. Round 3 is over.
