Round 1 The fighters advance and touch gloves. Esteban Montoya throws a hard jab but "San" throws a cross right over the top rocking Esteban Montoya. Montoya dodges a jab and clinches with "San", delivering a knee as he does so. Cheng eats a strong cross as Esteban moves into the clinch. Esteban Montoya is jockeying for position in the clinch. "The Electric Groove" takes Chengs back standing. "The Electric Groove" lands a couple of uppercuts from behind. Cheng is able to work his way back around. Cheng works for a kimura while pressing Esteban into the corner. Esteban spins out to reverse the hold and take Daniel Chengs back standing. He then trips Cheng to the floor and gains back control. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 "San" parries Esteban Montoyas jab and connect with a cross. Cheng hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of "The Electric Groove". Daniel Cheng ducks under a loopy hoop, taking "The Electric Groove" to the mat, and his back. "San" begins to look for a rear naked choke, but Esteban Montoya rolls to being mounted instead. "The Electric Groove" attempts to escape mount but has no luck. Esteban Montoya kicks off a leg and finds space off to the side and wraps around the body of Daniel Cheng getting his back. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 Daniel Cheng winds up a heavy straight but is countered by a hard counter knee to the body. Cheng connects with a series of punches forcing "The Electric Groove" into a clinch. Esteban Montoya attempts to grab the plum but Cheng takes the opportunity to attain double underhooks and take down Esteban Montoya. Cheng sits up in Esteban Montoyas open guard and spins to an leg lock. Esteban is able to gator-roll out of it and make it to standing. Cheng narrowly dodges a cross from Esteban, but falls catching him in his guard. Montoya attempts to set in a hammer lock from being caught in the guard. Cheng slips out of it at the last moment. Daniel is pummeled by some well timed bombs from Esteban. Daniel Cheng is caught off guard by a kneebar attempt from "The Electric Groove". Daniel Cheng struggles out of the lock and attempts to scramble. "The Electric Groove" is too quick and lunges forward to take half guard. The round comes to an end.
