Round 1 The fighters advance and touch gloves. Agapito Fernandez hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. Shorif catches a leg kick from Agapito, and puts him on the mat. Agapito is pummeled by some well timed bombs from Shorif Maitra. An heel strike attempt is dodged by Shorif and he traps Fernandezs extended leg to move to half guard. Fernandez holds the head of Shorif Maitra close to avoid shots. Shorif Maitra slams shots to his opponents ribs and throws hard elbows to the thighs. Maitra presses his foot onto the thigh of Agapito to get his own foot free. He successfully releases his leg and moves to side control. Agapito gives his back up in an attempt to get out of side control. Agapito starts to wiggle out of back control, Shorif lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Maitra clinches with Fernandez and lands multiple piston shots and short uppercuts to soften up Fernandez for a trip takedown, landing Maitra is half guard. Round 1 is over.
Round 2 Agapito connects with jab cross combination. Shorif connects with a hard punch making Agapito bring him in to a tight clinch. Shorif drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. Agapito Fernandez sets a guillotine choke but Shorif slips out at the last moment. Shorif is now caught in guard. Shorif sits up in Fernandezs open guard and spins to an leg lock. Fernandez is able to gator-roll out of it and make it to standing. Fernandez connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Maitra throws a flurry connecting with the final punch. Fernandez is rocked and stumbles to the ground but quickly shakes it off. Shorif continually moves away from Agapito Fernandez, who stalks him patiently, occasionally landing a jab or cross. The round comes to an end.
Round 3 Fernandez connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Maitra connects with a hard jab as Fernandez attempts a wide outside hook. A wild hook from Maitra is ducked by Fernandez who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. Agapito Fernandez circles Maitra, landing jabs and crosses at will. A shot from Shorif is countered with a well timed hook to his temple. Fernandez scrambles to his back but cannot sink a choke. The bell signals the end of round 3.
