Round 1 Usman Mullagori offers a glove touch, Hop Gu refuses. Mullagori fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Hop Gu. "Kamaru" picks up Gu but Gu illegally grabs the cage preventing the slam. The referee gives Gu a verbal warning and returns the fighters to the clinch position. "Kamaru" escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Hop connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Usman Mullagori connects with a strong right hook. Gu connects with a hard jab as "Kamaru" attempts a wide outside hook. Gu presses forward and grazes "Kamaru" with a combo. "Kamaru" wants none of the stand up and clinches with Gu to then savagely throw him down to the ground. Usman lays into Hops thighs with some well timed kicks while Gu is grounded. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Usman throws a push kick. Gu shucks it and strikes with a overhand that crashes into Mullagoris nose.
After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Hop drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. Usman Mullagori sets a guillotine choke but Hop slips out at the last moment. Hop is now caught in guard. "Kamaru" slides his body to the side and pushes out of guard. Hop grabs a guillotine hold and forces "Kamaru" back down gaining side control. Gu delivers knees to the body and sharp forearms to the head forcing Usman to turn over. Gu takes the back. Usman Mullagori carefully protects himself from Gus strikes. "Kamaru" tripods up, causing Gu to fall forward. A scramble ensues and "Kamaru" is able to take half guard. Round 2 is finished.
Round 3 Hop Gu winds up a heavy straight but is countered by a hard counter knee to the body. "Kamaru" connects with a combination and backs away from the counter combo of Gu. Hop Gu throws a wild punch, putting him off balance. A few well timed strikes from Usman Mullagori puts Hop Gu on the mat giving his back up. Giving up his back, Hop Gu panics and gives up mount instead. Gu shifts his head and hips to keep "Kamaru" off balance and unable to land strikes. Mullagori punishes Hop with a series of strikes from the mount. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
