Round 1 Cook keeps Aki Sanda at a distance with some well timed jabs. "lil Shady" grabs the plum and lands a strong elbow to the head of Justin. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. "lil Shady" attempts a takedown from the clinch, but Cook pulls a switch on him, ultimately leading to both fighters on their feet. A sloppy scooping ankle block is pulled of by Cook. Aki is able to pull him into his guard. "lil Shady" backs out of the guard after some unsuccessful motions and both fighters are standing. Justin Cook narrowly dodges a cross from "lil Shady", but falls catching him in his guard. Cook sets in an omaplata, forcing Sanda to roll through, giving Cook side control. Cook throws his knee into the ribs of "lil Shady". "lil Shady" gives his back up in an attempt to get out of side control. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 Cook keeps Aki Sanda at a distance with some well timed jabs. Aki narrowly dodges a cross from Justin Cook, but falls catching him in his guard. Aki Sanda shifts his hips to get better position in the guard. Justin Cook pushes down Sandas leg, allowing him to pass guard into half guard. Justin Cook tries to pull his leg out of half guard, but no luck. Justin Cook slams his knee into "lil Shadys" ribs. Cook is able to slip into mount from the half guard. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Aki Sanda fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Justin. Cook places a few punches to the ribs while tied up. Justin escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Aki is staggered by a jab to the chin. "lil Shady" throws a cross that easily dodged by Justin Cook. Aki takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Justin takes down Aki, but remains standing over him. Cook drops a huge strike to Akis chin, landing into his guard. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
