Round 1
Daiki snaps back the head of Rob with a stiff jab. Rob is hit with a jab-cross and then brutally shoved to the ground. Daiki falls into his guard, delivering a strong punch as he does so. Kawakami backs out of the guard, and chooses to stand with his opponent, allowing him to his feet. Daiki connects with a strong right hook. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. A strong elbow forces Rob to lose his balance and fall to the floor. Kawakami lays into Robs thighs with some well timed kicks while Rob is grounded. The bell signals the end of round 1.

Round 2
Rob parries a jab but leaves himself open for a hard cross. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Rob drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. Daiki sets a guillotine choke but Rob slips out at the last moment. Rob is now caught in guard. Rob takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Daiki Kawakamis guard. It doesn't pay off as Daiki Kawakami makes his way to standing. Daiki Kawakami sends McDonald to the mat with a well timed jab, falling into his guard. Rob McDonald shifts his hips to get better position in the guard. Rob McDonald is hit with a series of powerful punches while utilizing the guard. McDonald backs out of the guard after some unsuccessful motions and both fighters are standing. Round 2 comes to a close.

Round 3
Kawakami slips a cross from Rob McDonald and lands jab cross to the body. Rob McDonald lands a strong outside leg kick but is hit with a heavy counter hook. McDonald parries a jab but leaves himself open for a hard cross. Rob McDonald snaps back the head of Daiki with a stiff jab. "DBA Pillow Hands" connects with a hard right hand putting McDonald on the mat. "DBA Pillow Hands" goes down with him into side control. Round 3 comes to a close.
