Round 1 The fighters circle each other. Michio Uesugi connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Almir fires a haymaker but misses spinning himself around. Michio quickly takes his back. Uesugi sinks a deep rear naked choke, but Almir Begovic just barely rolls to his back in time. Uesugi now has full mount. Uesugi executes a double hand slap to the ears of Almir Begovic. Begovic pulls Michio Uesugi close to avoid a flurry of strikes.Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Michio hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of Almir Begovic. Almir Begovic fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Michio. Almir uses his under and overhook to hit a solid body toss takedown, landing in full guard. Almir takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Michios guard. It doesn't pay off as Uesugi makes his way to standing. Almir Begovic narrowly dodges a cross from Michio Uesugi, but falls catching him in his guard. Almir Begovic lands a stiff elbow while on his back. Michio tries to move to half guard but Begovic uses the opportunity to land several strikes and return to full guard. Begovic dodges some ground strikes from Michio Uesugi, and sends a few back of his own. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 3 Begovic is caught square on the jaw putting him to the canvas, Uesugi prepares to pounce, but Begovic gets his bearings just in time. Uesugi drops a huge strike to Almirs chin, landing into his guard. Begovic pulls Uesugi close and connects with a few heel strikes to the back. Michio Uesugi passes through Almir Begovics guard into mount. Michio secures his position. Begovic gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Michio lands a series of heavy punches forcing Almir Begovic to roll to his back, giving Michio mount. Michio secures his position. Round 3 is over.
