Round 1 Mau Diaz opens up on Gavin Swanson with frequent peppering strikes. "Watermelon" connects with a hard punch making Swanson bring him in to a tight clinch. "mmapyp" drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. Mau Diaz sets a guillotine choke but "mmapyp" slips out at the last moment. "mmapyp" is now caught in guard. "Watermelon" attempts a switch from the guard, but a scramble takes place getting both fighters to their feet. Gavin hits an uppercut to the head of Mau Diaz followed by a hard hook. "mmapyp" throws a push kick. Mau Diaz shucks it and strikes with a overhand that crashes into Gavins nose.
"mmapyp" throws a hard jab but Diaz throws a cross right over the top rocking "mmapyp". The round comes to an end.
Round 2 Gavin Swanson attempts a takedown, but Diaz clumsily falls down without much provocation. Gavin attempts to drop a fist on Diaz, but misses and lands in his guard. Diaz is almost caught in a omoplata but is able to work his way back to guard. Mau attempts to create some space from his guard, but Swanson sees the opening and passes to full mount. Gavin secures his position. Gavin telegraphs his motions for an armbar, but Mau gives up his back to stop the attempt. Swanson attempts to lock in a rear naked choke, but Mau rolls into to mount to cleverly avoid it. Mau kicks off a leg and finds space off to the side and wraps around the body of Gavin getting his back. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 "mmapyp" tries to hyperextend the knee of Diaz with a kick to the kneecap. Diaz hops back to avoid it. Mau hits an uppercut to the head of "mmapyp" followed by a hard hook. Mau Diaz throws a wild punch, putting him off balance. A few well timed strikes from Gavin Swanson puts Mau Diaz on the mat giving his back up. Swanson peppers Diaz with several shots to the face. "Watermelon" starts to wiggle out of back control, Gavin lets him escape putting them both on their feet. "Watermelon" connects with a hard jab as Gavin Swanson attempts a wide outside hook. "mmapyp" fakes an overhand and is able to take down Diaz with a double ankle pick. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 4 A jab from Gavin Swanson is blocked and a cross is returned by Mau Diaz. Mau throws a flurry connecting with the final punch. Gavin is rocked and stumbles to the ground but quickly shakes it off. Both fighters begin to exchange Diaz catches Gavin Swanson with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets Gavin Swanson gather himself. Gavin Swanson says he is ok and the fight continues. Gavin Swanson takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Diaz unleashes several furious punches at "mmapyp". Mau Diaz blocks a strong high kick from Gavin Swanson and counters with a devastating left hook. A shot from Gavin is countered with a well timed hook to his temple. "Watermelon" scrambles to his back but cannot sink a choke. Round 4 is over.
Round 5 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Swanson receieves numerous knees to the thighs from "Watermelon". "Watermelon" takes Gavins back standing. Swanson isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but "Watermelon" lands a sharp shovel punch that forces Swanson to release. "Watermelon" grabs for a clinch but "mmapyp" grazes him with an uppercut. "Watermelon" staggers back, then surprises "mmapyp" with a powerful superman punch. Mau Diaz connects with numerous jabs to the face of Gavin Swanson. Diaz connects with a hard punch and dives in mounting Gavin. Round 5 comes to a close.
