Round 1 The fighters circle one another hopping in and out trying to find their range. Kovacevic throws a push kick. Jose Montenegro shucks it and strikes with a overhand that crashes into "Crotch Rockets" nose.
Kovacevic winds up a heavy straight but is countered by a hard counter knee to the body. Kovacevic fires a haymaker but misses spinning himself around. Jose Montenegro quickly takes his back. Kovacevic carefully protects himself from Jose Montenegros strikes. Jose Montenegro begins to look for a rear naked choke, but Ivan Kovacevic rolls to being mounted instead. Round 1 is over.
Round 2 Jose fakes a shot and lunges forward pressing Ivan to the cage. Ivan swims for underhooks but is taken down in the process. Montenegro pushes down "Crotch Rockets" leg, allowing him to pass guard into half guard. Kovacevic tries to slip his leg out to get full guard, but is having difficulty. Montenegro slips out of half guard and into side control. "Crotch Rocket" almost switches side control around, but falls short at the last moment. Ivan Kovacevic sneaks a leg back under the body of Montenegro to achieve a defensive half guard. Ivan Kovacevic tries to scramble out of half guard, but Montenegro takes his back during it. Jose Montenegro is working a furious pace on Kovacevic, intermingling strikes with positional dominance at will. Round 3 Kovacevic eats a jab,jab, then a hook from Jose. Montenegro shoots in for a double leg, hoists "Crotch Rocket" up, and slams him viciously to the mat, taking side control. Jose Montenegro wraps the arm of Ivan Kovacevic behind his back and traps it. Jose Montenegro pounds away with shots to the face. Kovacevic gives his back up in an attempt to get out of side control. Montenegro executes a double hand slap to the ears of "Crotch Rocket". Jose sets in a rear naked choke. Ivan Kovacevic taps out.
