Round 1 Jad Felipe sends Artigas to the mat with a well timed jab, falling into his guard. Ely connects with some unorthodox punches from the bottom position. Jad forces "Cubs" leg down, giving him the chance to pass into side control. Felipe lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Jad Felipe slides his knee across the body of "Cub" and takes full mount. "Cub" lands a good elbow as Jad lowers his torso. Felipe begins to lose position so switches back to side control. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 A trip to the ground allows Jad Felipe to move into the guard of Ely. Jad is working a furious pace inside of the guard of Artigas. Jad Felipe backs his arms out of "Cubs" guard, leaving just his head caught. Jad Felipe slips to the side and gets dominate control. Jad Felipe lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Felipe slides his knee across the body of Ely Artigas and takes full mount. Jad Felipe maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. Jad Felipe jumps out of mount and back to dominant side control. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 Felipe fakes a shot and lunges forward pressing "Cub" to the cage. "Cub" swims for underhooks but is taken down in the process. Felipe tries to pass guard but "Cub" stops him with a well timed punch. "Cub" slides his body to the side and pushes out of guard. Felipe grabs a guillotine hold and forces "Cub" back down gaining side control. Artigas takes a few knees to the body while under Jad Felipes side control. Felipe slides his knee across the body of Ely and takes full mount. Jad punishes Ely Artigas with a series of strikes from the mount. "Cub" fights his leg through and gets back to half guard. The round comes to an end.
Round 4 Both fighters begin to exchange Felipe catches Ely Artigas with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets Ely Artigas gather himself. Ely Artigas says he is ok and the fight continues. Jad Felipe connects with a hard right hand putting "Cub" on the mat. Jad Felipe goes down with him into side control. Ely almost switches side control around, but falls short at the last moment. Ely Artigas gives his back up in an attempt to get out of side control. Felipe slides off to the side of Ely Artigas and lands several heavy knees into his ribs. Before he can lose the position, Felipe switches back to full back control. Felipe lands a double punch to the head of "Cub". The bell signals the end of round 4.
Round 5 A trip to the ground allows Felipe to move into the guard of Ely. Jad Felipe pushes down Elys leg, allowing him to pass guard into half guard. Jad Felipe slams his knee into Ely Artigass ribs. "Cub" hits an upward elbow on Jad Felipe, and attempts to get to full guard. During the scramble though Jad Felipe takes side control. Jad lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Ely tries to get back to full guard, but has to settle with half guard. Ely Artigas tries to scramble out of half guard, but Jad Felipe takes his back during it. Felipe executes a double hand slap to the ears of "Cub". "Cub" slips out the back leading to both fighters standing up. Round 5 is finished.
