Round 1 Julien Abel connects with a hard punch making Darryon Brooks bring him in to a tight clinch. Julien works the clinch to his advantage, carefully connecting with precise strikes. Abel takes the back of Darryon Brooks who works for a kimura. Abel pulls his arm out of the hold and push Darryon Brooks away. Julien parries Darryons jab and connect with a cross. Abel lands a strong outside leg kick and follows it up with a jab-cross combo. Julien Abel just misses with a head kick, grazing Brookss skull. Julien catches a leg kick and fires a hard punch to the head dropping Brooks. Abel stands over Darryon Brooks, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Darryon Brooks cannot trap him in his guard and pushes him away instead. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 Abel connects with a hard punch making Darryon bring him in to a tight clinch. Julien places a few punches to the ribs while tied up. Julien escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Julien lands multiple inside leg kicks that have Darryon Brooks circling away. Julien Abel connects with numerous jabs to the face of Darryon. Abel lands a left hook, only to follow up with a strong kick to the ribs. Darryon Brooks throws a kick to the midsection that is caught by Abel. Abel lands a sweeping leg kick that puts Darryon Brooks on his back. Julien stands over Brooks, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Brooks is able to grab an arm and pull Julien into his guard. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Darryon is met with a strong kick to the ribs. Julien connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Julien Abel moves in to press the action, but Darryon lands a heavy back kick. Both fighters begin to exchange Abel catches Brooks with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets Brooks gather himself. Brooks says he is ok and the fight continues. Julien attempts to press in on Brooks but is met with powerful inside-leg kicks. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 4 Darryon Brooks tries to hyperextend the knee of Julien with a kick to the kneecap. Julien hops back to avoid it. Abel hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. Julien Abel catches a leg kick and fires a hard punch to the head dropping Darryon. Julien grabs a foot and kicks at Brookss thighs. He then backs off and Darryon Brooks stands back up. Brooks is hit with a hook and a shovel punch and stumbles backward. Julien Abel explodes forward with a push kick that puts Brooks on the canvas. Julien Abel crescent stomps the sternum of Darryon. Julien kicks at the legs of Brooks and then asks him to stand up. The referee tells Brooks to stand. Abel circles Darryon, landing a front snap kick that stuns him. Julien snaps back the head of Darryon Brooks with a stiff jab. The round comes to an end.
Round 5 Julien Abel hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. Julien Abel lands a solid kick to the front leg of Darryon. Abel connects with a right that puts Brooks off balance tumbling to the mat, as Abel towers over him. Abel hovers over Brooks pushing his legs to the side and throwing punches down at his body and head. Abel waves for Brooks to stand up. Julien connects with a right that puts Darryon off balance tumbling to the mat, as Julien towers over him. Abel lays into Brookss thighs with some well timed kicks while Darryon is grounded. Abel grabs a foot and kicks at Brookss thighs. He then backs off and Darryon stands back up. Abel moves in to press the action, but Brooks lands a heavy back kick. Abel lands a solid kick to the inside thigh of Brooks. Round 5 is over.
