Round 1 A wild hook from "Old" is ducked by Leon Gosselin who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. Leon shoots a takedown from a distance putting McDonald on the ground. Leon Gosselin tries to pass guard but McDonald stops him with a well timed punch. Gosselin distracts McDonald with some peppering shots. Gosselin then isolates a leg and falls back into a achilles lock. McDonald is able to force his way out of it but gives up half guard in the ensuing scramble. Leon Gosselin tries to pull his leg out of half guard, but no luck. Gosselin attempts to sink a neck crank from half guard. Round 2 Gosselin snaps back the head of Russ McDonald with a stiff jab. The fighters circle each other. Gosselin lands a double jab. Leon Gosselin lands a double jab. Russ takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. A couple of powerful body shots forces Russ back to the cage. Leon swims to double underhooks. Round 3 Leon lands a double jab. Russ McDonald throws a cross that easily dodged by Gosselin. Russ McDonald throws a wild punch, putting him off balance. A few well timed strikes from Gosselin puts Russ McDonald on the mat giving his back up. Gosselin attempts to lock in a rear naked choke, but "Old" rolls into to mount to cleverly avoid it. Gosselin secures his position. Leon secures his position. Round 3 is over.
Round 4 Leon Gosselin fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Russ. Russ McDonald lands a powerful uppercut in the clinch. Leon Gosselin takes the back of Russ McDonald who works for a kimura. Leon Gosselin pulls his arm out of the hold and push Russ McDonald away. Leon attempts a takedown, but Russ McDonald clumsily falls down without much provocation. Leon Gosselin stands over Russ McDonald, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Russ McDonald is able to grab an arm and pull Leon Gosselin into his guard. Leon Gosselin takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in McDonalds guard. It doesn't pay off as "Old" makes his way to standing. Leon Gosselin stuffs a shot from Russ and hits him with a hard hook to the temple and pushes him to take his guard. "Old" connects with some unorthodox punches from the bottom position. Leon Gosselin sits up in "Olds" open guard and maneuvers his way to a toe hold. Russ McDonald struggles to free himself and begins to yell in a pain as Leon Gosselin furthers the hold. The ref rushes in as "Olds" ankle begins to pop.
